Pics shows for me as well. But it does take a loooong time to load. And that's on cable so dial up guys don't even stand a chance.

Brakes: EA81-vs-EA82
The brakes are slightly bigger on the EA82's. Unfortunately, you can not use them on an EA81 without modding in the control arm. Rear discs have been covered many, many times. Backing plates, calipers, and rotor/hubs. It is a simple bolt on that doesn't require any other changes.

86 Coupe ??
Yes, there have been a couple lifted 3dr's. This one has a custom tonnuea type cover for the rear.

Gen2 brat waterpump replacement?
Very easy job. 5 bolts with 10mm heads hold the pump to the block. Replacement of the heater hose is a good idea. Word of caution, when buying the new waterpump make sure you get one that has a cast impeller. The ones that look like an alternator cooling fan are prone to overheating the engine. For some reason unknown to me they do not flow as well as the cast ones. I have replaced a few that have had overheating issues have had this type of waterpump. Oh yeah, no timing belts on the EA81.

I believe they did put a turbo in one year.

I think I just blew my engine
Sounds more like a blown headgasket.

Rotor No Turny...
Doesn't matter how far off it is. You will be resetting it to spec when you put the new belts on.

NWRegion Rallycross - Feb 29th at Pacific Raceways
Why? You DO know what an alarm clock is. Set it early and get your butt out of bed. It's no different than one of us coming down there. I guess it just means you need to decide how bad you want to run.

West Coast Subaru Show is set!!!!
The Hood River chamber of commerce will be trying to set up a nice list of things to do in the area. There are many summer type things to do. This may be the best event yet! We will have more info to add as the weeks go by. Stay tuned.

one more reason
Subaru's did not apply the self-adjusting mechanism until the introduction of the Legacy. You adjust them by turning the small square bolt that sticks out of the backing plate. They are a very simple design that works well when adjusted properly. The only problem is you have to adjust it every time you do an oil change to keep them adjusted properly. That is just one reason so many people have gone to the rear disc set up. It eliminates the need for adjusting the brakes. It gives a higher and firmer brake pedal all the time. It allows less pressure to apply the brakes as well. And... if you really need to stop in a hurry you may bruise your forehead.

can a 6ft4in guy fit in a sube?
Just to add some info I forgot to before. My son is 6'7"+ he drives an '87 GL 3dr. He has to have the wheel all the way up and the seat all the way back and reclined some but he fits OK.

I'm 6'4" and I fit fine. Leg room isn't great but I enjoy my Subes and have adapted to it. Just put him in it and go for a drive. If he isn't comfortable in it after a drive he probably won't ever be.

headlight covers
Hey speed, got any pics of that. Sounds kinda cool.

headlight covers
I have rock guards on my '86 Brat. I also have run the clear covers for the EA82 composites. I have a set of smoked covers for the '92 Legacy turbo wagon. The clear ones are great for all round use. The smoked ones look very nice with the dark black cherry paint but really suck at night.

are '81 and '83 motor mounts different?
I agree. Just push the bolt into the hole. It will be alright.

Window Replacement
I fully understand what you mean by not letting others work on your rig. But...that being said. When it comes to glass I leave that to the guys that do that everyday. They have the tools and experience. It will cost a little more to do it once than the money you'll save. Just my .02.

Sounds our rides make
Cool Skip, it is a little scratchy though. How does it sound with it just sitting still?
