Let me know if you'd like to get together and meet.

HP's Annual Christmas tree run
I have your permit Ed. Your other post did take. It is in the "Meet and Greet". Yes indeed, the Forester will be just fine. We usually have enough snow to keep us entertained without looking for anything too extreme.

OORSC tree run???
I believe John said something about it being the first weekend of December. I'm sure he'll post about it as it gets closer.

HP's Annual Christmas tree run
Anyone who wishes to remove a tree will be required to have a permit attached to each tree. They are $10.00 ea. I can get some more for those who need them. They went officially on sale today. Probably won't last through December so let me know ASAP.

5spd into ea81 trouble! help! (pics and questions)
This will not be allowed to become a flame war. If it can not stay on the topic it will be moved to off topic and or closed. If anyone has a problem with someone else deal with it off board. Jerry's product is just as advertised. It was and is designed for upgrades from EA81 4sp D/R to EA82 5 sp D/R transmissions. Anything else is beyond the design and should be the responsibilty of the end user. Modifying automobiles can and will be a difficult process. Most people can not do it on their own. That is why it is important for our community to have people like Jerry, John, Scott, Adam and other. And yes, even Miles. We don't always believe some of the antics but he does have alot of creativity that aids many people. It is not always easy to modify somethng that cost millions of dollars to design and engineer to become something else. It's not for everyone and everyone should not try it.

Rear Disk Brake conversion on 85 Brat
No, you can't. They are different and smaller. What you want to look for is any EA82 car. Specifically any wagon, sedan, coupe or XT(not the XT6) in turbo form. Almost all of them had the rear disc brakes. 2wd or 4WD will work but if you need 4WD you'll need at least the rear hubs. All the rest of the parts are the same. You may want to share the locale of the XT6 as many of the board members are looking to do a 5 lug conversion. Good luck!

Oregon Rally group meeting. (rules)
I guess my one thought is whether or not they will try to make a clas just for us(older Subaru 4WD). I would like to see a competative class. I guess I am also afraid that they may try to ban the cars and wagons from truck/SUV.

HP's Annual Christmas tree run
I am getting tree permits tomorrow and want to know who's interested. We are looking at the last weekend in November(Nov 29th) or the second weekend in December(Dec 13th) I would prefer Nov 29th. Please let me know who's gonna go and if Nov 29th will work for you.(it is Thanksgiving weekend BTW)

You the man Ed. Of all the people who could go there I'm glad to hear you are trying. I think your opinion carries alot of weight with the ORG.

yet another "which is best" thread
The only one I see is the Impreza. The EA82's won't be reliable at those speeds for hours on end. Although, you didn't mention the Legacy. Mine will run 80+ anytime I desire. It cruises very comfortably @ 70. It has as much clearance as the imp only slightly bigger in size. Just my opinion and I'm sure someone will have something to say as well.

Oregon Rally group meeting. (rules)
I won't be able to attend but thought I'd put it out there for those who can. Rules meeting They will have a small general meeting at the beginning but as all business for the year will have concluded they have decided to look at the rules for class and such. This will be the meeting where they decide what additional regional type additions to the SCCA rally rules. It would be a good time to have people show up and make a stand for the older Subaru's. Names that come to mind are Jason Mike John Mark Luke Ed had said that he wanted to attend but his personal life may take precidence this time. Others have shown interest in the sport can also show. You do not have to be an actual member to attend either.

RallyX awards banquet
So, who all won awards from the board?
-
185/80/R13 - Scrape-ing?
Quite right Caleb. The EA82 vehicles have slightly larger wheelwells that afford taller tires without clearance issues. The 4WD will let the 185/80's fit and will fill the wells a bit better than 185/70's.

185/80/R13 - Scrape-ing?
2 or 4WD? It will make a difference. Welcome to the board and just so you know, there are probably 30+ members from Washington.

So what's the skinny on black RX's?
Where does a maroon/burgandy '85 RX sedan fit in to the mix?
-
Ditch The Hill Holder?
Exactly Steve. Caleb, you should mention that your car started as an auto.
-
Carb problem, she don't wanna run...
Have you added any more fuel to it? Sounds like water in the fuel system. Try draining the tank and seeing if there is any debris in the tank. Say hi to Todd for me. Ken

Ditch The Hill Holder?
For the purpose of getting more room it makes sense. You can run without it but as Caleb stated you need to install a return spring on the clutch. It serves a dual purpose. As far as being dangerous. That's a bit harsh. You can adjust it to perform where/when you want it to. I have never removed them for any reason.
