  1. Really? Never noticed that.. will have to look.
  2. The green plugs don't make any difference in the timing? They sure do on mine?
  3. I would start with the 2 main plugs on the manifold wiring harness. I once got an 88 Turbowagon very cheap becuse one of those plugs was not seated properly and it caused all sorts of weird intermittent problems with the car. I seem to remember that random stalling was one of those problems. I seem to remember that you recently had some work done on the RX. What was done? What ever area was taken apart, look at the various plugs around the worked on area and make sure things are as they should be. Also, check the wires to the coil and distributor. When the car stalls, is it only when warm>? it could also be a vacuum leak somewhere. Or it could be the ignition module in the distributor. I had one go bad a while back and had similar symptoms. So are you even more confused now?
  4. Golly! Think y'all might be able to call all the way down here to Texas with that newfangled gadget?
  5. Sure. It will ride like crap and be potentially dangerous..(the faster you go, the more dangerous it is) But you can drive it.
  6. I wish people would dispense with passing this rumor around. Its just not true. other than that, the above is a pretty decent breakdown of the EA82 line
  7. Did you use equivalent lift blocks on the motor and tranny crossmembers? Camber shouldn't be a problem if you lift the body at all contact points.. otherwise, you end up with the problems you have described.. if the body is lfted correctly, the suspension geometry will not change.
  8. That won't work on an 89. Different MAF from yours. My vote is an electrical connector that isn't seated completely/properly.
  9. One is a gear reduction starter, one is not.The one that isn't has 2 different body lengths. They will swap though. Only time it won't work is if you have the long bodied starter and you try to put it in a car with a difflock or the PB 4WD 5 Speed .. The vacuum module gets in the way.. shouldn't be a problem for you though..
  10. K-Bar would work nicely
  11. This from the weirdo thats putting a 2WD trans in his brat!
  12. Its either 19 or 22.. cant remember
  13. That thing sure is making a splash here.. thats the 3rd time this week its been posted... someone here should buy it.
  14. I am a firm believer that 99% of the wheels available for old soobs are absolutely butt ugly. Congrats on finding that 1%!!
  15. Theres more to 'performnance' than how fast you can go in a straight line.. Some may have noticed that Qman recently won a RallyX (truck/SUV class) in a Brat. 'Performance' is not all about 1/4 mile timeslips. I can think of a ton of 'performance' vehicles that regularly get the smackdown placed upon then by their more underpowered brethren once the straight piece of pavement is removed. Black Label, Go See Ken, Mark, Austin or one of the many other Subaru wizards in your area.. if you like your car, its worth it to spend whatever you want to make it do what it does even better.
  16. From what I have seen, most of the Gen 2s sold in Israel were 2wd.. so they are out there
  17. If the core support is bent beyond repair.. you will have to cut the straight one from your parts car and weld it in.. just make sure your frame rails aren't bent as well... Not worth fixing at that point.. unless you really have a special attachment to that car..
  18. Still waiting for my FSM to be reurned to me.. its an 88.. Ill see if it has what you need.. hopefully I get it back soon.. gonna need it myself here shortly
  19. No compatability issues.. straight swap But if you like your air ride, by all means, keep it.. just be sure to set aside a a chunk of your weekly paycheck for when it craps out For good air rid info, look for posts from electrycmonk ...(or is it electryc_monk ?) He has 3 air ride cars and insists on keeping them all that way.. I think he spends too much time and effort on them.. but he likes it and thats what counts..And he knows his air ride stuff
  20. My region gets more snow than your region! Oh.. wait.. no it doesn't:( Hmm.. how bout this.. my region is bigger than your region :argue:
  21. Hey.. that plenum looks like mine!!(except finished:D) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10832&highlight=to+paint
  22. Almost over?.. I'm sitting here basking in the 85 degree sunshine
  23. you wanna see some odd people.. try the Peugeot boards...Rude.. and prices?.. whew.. the average pug owner seems to be paying about $65 per wheel for 14 inch steels..
