  1. Your grandpa was going to the wrong Rod shows boy. I have seen pics from the late 30's with chicks modeling eith fast cars.
  2. Lots of the datsun guys buy our LSDs for their 510s and older Z cars..If you see a soob LSD on Ebay selling for 4 times more than its worth, its because the datsun guys are bidding on it.
  3. Your timing should be 20 BTDC.. the marks are on the flexplate(under that plug on top of the tranny).. turn the motor over by hand until you see them, they are there.. there's actually 2 sets.. one is just 3 lines.. don't use those.. they are for cam timing... the other set has numbers every 5 (?) degrees.. remember to plug in the green connectors under the dash when doing your timing.
  4. Technically its illegal in most places to improperly dispose of freon(letting it ou into the atmosphere) but I won't tell:D.. just don't breathe it in.. And that wasn't trekky knowledge!! thats 'back to the future" man!! Now, had I said something about dylithium crystals.....
  5. The 4 spd D/R has a 3.90 front/rear diff.. There are a couple of different 1st and 2nd gear sets.. specs are listed in a few posts around here somewhere. The RX tranny is 3.70 Don't know what the RS.. I am assuming you are referring to the Impreza RS.. or maybe the Loyale RS?.. if its the loyale, its 3.70 for the 90 turbo model.. 3.70 for the NA auto models and 3.90 for the NA manual
  6. Ken..Guess you are just going to have to come down here for the next meet and find out for yourself and hey.. you should at least recognize the car.. you worked on it.. a little..
  7. The innermost of the 2 joints on an axle
  8. Isn't that where Ben, Adam, Hoss and Little Joe Cartwright hang out?
  9. Yeah.. beware of the hydrochloric acid tank thats hidden behind the flux capacitor..(be careful with that thing too.. they are expensive to replace!) Seriously.. just don't drop it on your foot and you should be OK
  10. I think perhaps you are confused.. you don't need any special tools to get the axle out.. unless you consider a BFH a special tool.. Drive out the axle pin from the DOJ side of the axle. undo the outer tie rod end (17mm I think) pull the inner bolt on the lower control arm . Sometimes you have to pull the sway bar end too, but I haven't had to do that every time... then grab the whole thing (with hub still attached) and pull.. you should be able to pull the axle from the out of the tranny. Then take your BFH and a piece of wood and persuade the axle out of the hub. Edit.. three eyed bandit beat me to it.. and with fewer words.. leave it to me to talk too much.
  11. Ok.. I think I got everyone that was requesting stuff.. If I missed you , PM me or something. The have been a couple of people that have expressed wonder at whether that was really me/my car. This should answer your question Don't look at this one at work either..... There are probably 20 people on the board that have met me and can verify thats me in the pic so ppphhhhttt!! to the non believers!
  12. Ok guys. I'll send out pics tonight. Dennis. No convincing needed Tom.. Yup, thats my soob:D And guys.. Although I will say that .. yes, I am the pimp master, I have to admit that this girls were there for the specific purpose of pics with peoples cars..
  13. Wow!! Ultra rare.. it says it has an 8 cylinder 14,000 Buy it now.. very suspiscious
  14. Good thing the guy posting isn't in CA:rolleyes: Show a little respect? I know inspection dorks in 4 states.. I stand by my assesment. Don't get all bent out of shape if it doesn't apply to you.. Offense toward you or any of California's highly trained automobile inspection professioanls wasn't intended.. The assesment was based on real experience with real inspection dorks.
  15. For normal driving, cutting the bottom of the airbox is fine.. I never had any problems with water/dust clogging.. and if you cut it from the bottom , the inspection dorks can't see it!
  16. You missed a bit of info about the justy.. the EFI, the EVCT.. and the fact that is has a better HP/Weight ratio than a hatch:D
  17. Right on.. Nice work.. losing a couple of pounds of rotating mass is always a good thing.
  18. Well guys, just in case you haven't noticed, its been a struggle just to keep the first pic up there.. This thread was pulled yesterday with no communication from the mod that did it. Then it was reinstated last night.. then it was edited and had the pic pulled out and a a link that said "NOT SAFE FOR WORK" added in its place.. Once again with no communication from the mod that did it. None of the pics from that night are terrible or pornographic, but there are a few that are 'racier' than the one I posted. i'm not going to twist anyones nipples by posting any of the more 'offensive' pics.. but if I get time later, you guys might find a surprise in your PM box:D
  19. i dig that one.. I'm not a justy fan, but thats pretty cool
  20. Not yet.. maybe for a 2005 Legacy TurboWagon with leather.. but not for a 91 rweddy, the GL-10 is fun. This is my 3rd one.. The air ride and automatic tranny got pulled a long time ago.. Springs and a 5 speed are the way to go.
  21. Added note. the above info is correct, but only applies to 85-86 models. 87 and up were not adjustable.
  22. I have been forced to consolidate mine .. everything is crammed into one 10x10 room.. its a tight squeeze. Mick.. great thread
  23. Nothing to fix.. you aren't supposed to downshift into first while moving.
  24. Good deal.. Thats about what I would like to get for my wife.. solid, reliable, 5 spd and a wagon Enjoy!
