  1. Possess an '93 complete engine assembly, with 49 K miles. And full new gasket set with ancillary parts. Belts, hoses, thermostat, etc. Willing to crate & ship, if you set it up, and are so inclined. Have a lot of small metal parts, also, that are easily shipped. Good luck with your new car.
  2. Same direction most of the car mags took - extinction. Last one I subscribed to was car craft, and it was pretty bad by the end. Endless "LS" swap stories, and tie ins to "reality shows"
  3. 2018 Collector Car Price Guide (from editors of Old Cars Report) List the following: 1980-84 1600 GL station wagon, 4 x 4 Condition #1 - $6500 Condition #2 - $4550. Condition #3 - $2930. No breakdowns for 1800 cc engine, auto or manual transmission, or dealer special edition packages. Their rating criteria - which believe is used by other automotive appraisers, insurers, etc, i.e. Hagerty's is as follows: condition #1 - Excellent : Restored to current maximum professional standards of quality in every area, or perfect original with components operating and appearing as new. A 95-plus point show vehicle that is NOT driven. condition #2 - Fine: Well restored, or a combination of superior restoration and excellent original. Also, an extremely well maintained original showing very minimal wear. condition #3 - Very Good: Completely operable original or "older restoration" showing wear. Also, a good amateur restoration, all presentable and serviceable inside and out. Plus, combinations of well-done restoration and good operable components or a partially restored vehicle with all parts necessary to complete and/or valuable NOS parts. For example, am hoping to "restore" my weathered '72 Chevelle to #3 standards. Simply not possible or feasible to reach #2, and it could never be #1, due to use and wear, imho. I would call your wagon, at first glance, a #2, do not know if mileage affects this. Also am of belief there has been inflation of values in the last three years.
  4. darn, that is one rusty car. Aftermarket AC on that rig? Looks like a YORK compressor (often found on Ford) under the hood. Must have been in a very moist environment to rust like that. A west Texas or southern NM vehicle will be rock solid, metal wise, but all the rubbers, plastics and vinyls will be junk. And the interior will be exploded, as the seat and dash foam disintegrates and the vinyl covers decay.
  5. Have a lot of parts and a parts wagon, but no enthusiast base around here. Everyone here seems to be driving a new vehicle, usually a truck. Maybe they're all rich.
  6. Darn. Have to wonder why their "engineers" chose 137 mm for the bolt pattern. Why not "round" off to a whole number?
  7. This is '89 TBI tank. Supposedly fits '87 - '89 wagon. Can understand why it doesn't interchange back - '85 and '86 were carbed, but why not Loyale?
  8. I have a flushed, clean '89 tank. could it be modified or used?? Dave S Dona Ana NM 88032
  9. www.uship.com www.getloaded.com A few generalist transporters/haulers websites. There are others. Whether they are all still active, do not know.
  10. Guess that is something like this - '83 Wgn. Unfortunately the local yard just crushed it. The Executors didn't want to consider saving hardly anything old.
  11. Haynes manuals, while sometimes decent, are generic. An original Factory manual is always preferable if it can be acquired.
  12. Darn, awesome thread. Passed on a super clean '76 wagon several years ago, in local yard due to fact all glass except windshield was smashed out at the university (NMSU) by vandals. Figured it was unobtanium stuff. Thanks for posting this!
  13. How did this resolve? Never did hear anything back. Dave S dona Ana NM
  14. Have an '89 Wagon 1.8L 5 speed 4 x 4 that I will need to get off my property soon. And I am 900 + plus miles closer. Many extra parts could go with it. Southern New Mexico metal. Dave S dona Ana NM 88032
  15. Disagree. the Loyale was a "carryover" of the mid / late eighties DL / GL box styled cars. Have seen them in the Albuquerque / El Paso yards with incredible high mileage. Very durable and solid design. These are some pics of one spotted at one of the El Paso yards. Wish I had seen as it was coming in, was a five speed to boot with clean interior. Would choose a Loyale over a Legacy.
  16. I responded to your message, just now. Dave S dona Ana NM 88032
  17. Attn Mods this is basically an Ad. If it needs to be deleted I understand as it is in wrong area. Just trying to get some exposure not a Facebook user. Did place another similar listing in the correct section. Thx Dave S
  18. Clearing yard of many parts including some very nice 80-94 "square body" parts. Most are in the '88-'94 timeframe. GL, DL, and Loyale. Can ship larger parts for less via Greyhound Bus. Very clean metal, little to no snow here in Rio Grande Valley so no de-icing chemicals. These cars have now pretty much dissipated from the U Pull Its here. Fenders, Hood, inner front fender skirts, Front valance, front fender tie bar, Loyale headlight assemblies, (2) manual racks, rear drum assemblies, knuckles, rear control arm, CV shafts, more. Package deal on all, should be a very useful addition for a Subaru parts specialist. Dave S southern New Mexico 88032
