  1. what, no AM bump?! where'd your dedication go? c(: --Spiffy
  2. when do you plan to pass-through/depart portland? evening of 8/24, or morning of 8/25? --Spiffy
  3. that sounds like a good plan... going to be taking the trip there for each day, or were you going to camp out there? --Spiffy
  4. whoa, the 135/90R16 of the S1 would scare me... I'd be constantly afraid I was going to pop the bead... I'd go with a real tire in a different size... at least the K4 comes in decent sizes, but wimpy tread... --Spiffy
  5. as the closest lift/bumper maker to me I'm sad to see them go as well... even though I never had a chance to buy their goods... I liked the security of having a local resource... --Spiffy
  6. you can't get OEM axles anymore (I checked at my local dealer), and if you could they'd still be like $300 each... I just went to Mike's Auto Parts (local place) and bought a remanufactured one for like $65 (plus core)... make sure you get a lifetime warranty one and carry a spare if you're doing some harsh wheelin'... you can also get yours rebuilt here... ... I just used an OEM clutch replacement in my GL turbo, but it's not an off-road car... --Spiffy
  7. on friday it was extended for 3 days... today might be the last day you can get in on it... check here: http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58465 and you'll want to email them ASAP to see if there's still time... --Spiffy
  8. I had one ona wagon where the spring on the door was broken so when I triggered the release it would let go but then the door wouldn't spring open... I could trigger it and then somebody else could open the door... 2-person job though... I just bought a new fuel door at the junkyard with the spring on it... --Spiffy
  9. get another one and put them on the sides... --Spiffy
  10. that sounds like an awesome road trip... the northwet is definately the place for subie enthusiasts... --Spiffy
  11. awesome! Surveyor's Ridge, eh? doesn't sound familiar, but it looks like a place I was out at on the WA side of the river around Hood River... how do you get there? I may not be able to wait until august... (: --Spiffy
  12. great video! my gf works off redland road... never seen that fun spot though... my stock rig would get SO stuck out there... --Spiffy
  13. ah, it was the dust causing all the revs and high speed... I thought it was hi range because of how fast you were moving, but it turns out you were compensating for the bad traction... yeah, dust is the suck... one reason why I always wanted AC, so I can be the follower and roll the windows up... not so much a problem up here in the northwest where it's cooler, but down in california is got really hot... now lets see some more vids! longer length! w00p! --Spiffy
  14. that looks fun... looks like you were in hi range the whole time... --Spiffy
  15. this used to happen to me in my '85 and I just adjusted the hi/lo shifter 1 turn at the tranny and that fixed it... how worn are your tranny mounts? is there much flex in the shifters when you are decending? I know in my '82 I get a lot of flex, enough to trigger my 4wd light... I need to check my tranny mounts still, but seems like the likely culprit... --Spiffy

  18. well that's different... me and 2 friends lifted the engine out of my gl hatch by hand... --Spiffy

  20. I got the OHV sticker on the car, but don't really want to beat this thing up quite yet... just want to explore and take in the scenery... I just need a weekend when my copilot (gf) isn't working or having bad back pain... --Spiffy
  21. I know this is a bit late, but I've been wanting to check out the Tillamook OHV park on Hwy 6... you can check it out here: http://atv.prd.state.or.us/site_detail.php?UID=3 there's a web link that goes to the site with a good trail map... --Spiffy
  22. yeah I really wanted to go, even in my stock '82... but a bunch of things came up that I need to do... probably won't even have time to drive up to indian heaven in gifford pinchot like I wanted... but it's good to know there are people up here willing to drive around in the forest and hang out for a day... --Spiffy
  23. Spiffy replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Off Road
