Legacy777 replied to simbey1982's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHe was talking about the 91-94 turbo legacy, and yes it only came on the 91 turbo legacy. I have the parts book for the 90-94 legacies, and the vlsd is only listed for the 91 model year.

Question about a sway bar in a 92 legacy
Legacy777 replied to turbo92subaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf the link is not positioned right, you may have something bent on the A-arm. Or the link just might be bent. If you drive around without the bar connected, just be careful.

What's VDC?
Legacy777 replied to Spokane-Pete's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXVehicle Dynamics Control. It's basically a stability traction control system. It has yaw sensors and other stuff to keep you on your intended path by individually braking certain wheels, or taking power away. With the AWD, and VDC.....you have very similar platform as the higher end audi's. My uncle's A6. You just stomp the gas, and turn the wheel where you want to go. The car will keep you on the intended path. Obviously there are limits to this system though....it won't save you're bacon every time.

2wd - AWD Subaru
Legacy777 replied to Andyjo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThat is NOT a towing fuse. You will still damage the transmission if you put the fuse in and tow it with the rear wheels on the ground.

cam/crank seals leaking 90 legacy
Legacy777 replied to TheBigJ's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou can use a screwdriver and get the seals out very easily. You have to dig into the seal, then use a pivot point on the engine so you can push the end of the screwdriver handle towards the engine, and it will pull the seal out of it's home. I struggled getting the one out. After I figured this out, I got it out and swapped easily. You do need to be careful not to scratch the shaft. I also used this method with the rear main seal. As for install, just use a large socket....I think I used something like a 22 or 21.

Speed Sensor 2
Legacy777 replied to Subaru45895's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe TCU holds the gear in 3rd when trans temps are very low, so the fluid heats up faster. So this is normal during the winter time when temps get really low.
