  1. I merged your new thread with your existing one so that anyone with a similar problem will be able to read over the entire diagnosis.
  2. He was talking about the 91-94 turbo legacy, and yes it only came on the 91 turbo legacy. I have the parts book for the 90-94 legacies, and the vlsd is only listed for the 91 model year.
  3. If the link is not positioned right, you may have something bent on the A-arm. Or the link just might be bent. If you drive around without the bar connected, just be careful.
  4. Actually.....you really shouldn't drive without a front sway bar.... If you do, you need to be extremely careful.
  5. Right now it's only available on the higher end 6cyl cars.
  6. You can tie into the VSS2 signal at the ECU or TCU. it should be an oscilating 0 to 5v Here's the pin out for the ECU & TCU http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/ECU_I-O_page1.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/TCU_I-O_page2.jpg
  7. Hmm...not sure about the t-70 torx bit thing. You may want to ask somebody on http://www.legacygt.com/forums
  8. try again. I had things down yesterday evening when you posted.
  9. ALL of subaru's limited slip differentials use a viscous coupling, and are sealed.
  10. Vehicle Dynamics Control. It's basically a stability traction control system. It has yaw sensors and other stuff to keep you on your intended path by individually braking certain wheels, or taking power away. With the AWD, and VDC.....you have very similar platform as the higher end audi's. My uncle's A6. You just stomp the gas, and turn the wheel where you want to go. The car will keep you on the intended path. Obviously there are limits to this system though....it won't save you're bacon every time.
  11. That is NOT a towing fuse. You will still damage the transmission if you put the fuse in and tow it with the rear wheels on the ground.
  12. I replied to your other thread http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36086 I'm going to close this one, so all comments stay in that one.
  13. You can use a screwdriver and get the seals out very easily. You have to dig into the seal, then use a pivot point on the engine so you can push the end of the screwdriver handle towards the engine, and it will pull the seal out of it's home. I struggled getting the one out. After I figured this out, I got it out and swapped easily. You do need to be careful not to scratch the shaft. I also used this method with the rear main seal. As for install, just use a large socket....I think I used something like a 22 or 21.
  14. 2.2 or 1.8? This is for the legacy. It should be similar for yours http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/Timing_belt1.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/Timing_belt2.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/Timing_belt3.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/Timing_belt4.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/Timing_belt5.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/Timing_belt6.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/Timing_belt7.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/Timing_belt8.jpg
  15. The 93's should have the green & black diagnostic connectors like this, but probably won't be in the exact same spot http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/ecuhide.jpg
  16. I think you're on the right track. Replace the o-rings and go from there.
  17. The TCU holds the gear in 3rd when trans temps are very low, so the fluid heats up faster. So this is normal during the winter time when temps get really low.
  18. Did you find the thread with the numbers in it? I've been traveling all week, and haven't had time to check the boards.
  19. Just tie into the VSS2 at the TCU http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/TCU_I-O_page1.jpg http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/TCU_I-O_page2.jpg
