Your door may also be tweaked. Our older Soobs are not built with heavy guage metal and over time can warp or twist, depending on climate, how its been used(abused) and if the stars are lines up funky. I would try and tweak it back by placing your leg on the outside bottom of the door and holding it in place while pulling on the top and trying to twist it a little. Some of you are probably guffawing by now:rolleyes: But trust me, this can work sometimes.

You need to adjust the striker on the jamb. Loosen and move it out a little. It might take a couple tries to get it perfect.

Get lots of pics of the carnage:grin: -
The booster is vacume assisted. Theres a one way valve in the hose from the manifold that can go bad with time (and elements). Theres a flow chart in the FSM to check the system but I'm not in my office right now:rolleyes: I'll try and scan it later in the morning.

Ea 81 fenders/doors compatibility

Yeah, they all interchange. There might be a little difference, might have to adjust here and there. But if your not to worried about the fit and finish, your good to go. -
I might want in on that. Let me know when they start.

are these solenoids interchangeable?
Turbone replied to idosubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I've interchanged them before and have had no problems. If it doesnt work let me know and I'll see if I can find the exact one. -
She's purty:brow: Dont see many red ones.

He brought it over last night. It still needs to be tweaked here and there. Steering is a little funky:-p But it looks like fun, I havent seen him this excited since he got the Imp rebuilt:burnout:

If you can find one, I know of someone who can reproduce it. He's doing the Kaminari kit for XT's right now. -
Possible frozen block/cracked EA81
Turbone replied to [HTi]Dain's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I f theres a visible, huge crack on the engine then its toast. But theres still enough of them to be found, especially in the PNW. -
ea81 turbo brat vs ea81 non turbo brat
Turbone replied to nevbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Almost all of the USDM EA81T's came with oilcoolers. As far as I know, not one EA82T has a factory oil cooler. I think this is where the cornfusion is:cool: Remember folks, the EA81T and the EA82T are different. -
ea81 turbo brat vs ea81 non turbo brat
Turbone replied to nevbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If your cooling system is fairly new and in excellent shape, there shouldnt be a problem in your location. And of course a turbo is always better in performance than a N/A car. But thats my own biased opinion:rolleyes: There are some N/A cars out there that have more or same HP as forced induction cars. I know of a few. -
So true! Even so with our rigs. We spend how much $ (some not so much) getting them trail ready or RallyX ready, etc and when we finally get tired of them and decide to sell, theres no way we are going to get a return of what we put into them. The market is only going to bear so much.
-
Yeah, well, what can I say:rolleyes: Better late than never?
-
Not sure if everyone will see anything new, buts its been a long time in coming;)

I quess we are all entitled to our own opinions:rolleyes: I've seen TV shows and off-road mags showing buggies on the trails and not just at some made up park run. I dont think all the owners only spend a hour more or less in them either. And I'm pretty sure, almost positive, that none of those buggies are street legal. Heck, even my Hatch isnt sreet legal and is supposed to be trailered. Now if I had a 3/4ton truck and tandem trailer, I might do that. But if I had that much $, I might just have one of them rock buggies:cool:

Correct. I welcome the chance now to try and pull something that outweighs my rig by 1K lbs or more. I have a receiver hitch in my rear bumper, so I have a decent hardpoint to anchor to. I will be making sure my bumpers are securely attached to the frame now:rolleyes:
