I dont think length is going to matter. You will need to massage the tranny tunnel and have a driveline made to fit either way.

Turbone replied to El Toro's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Well, since your not getting any responce here, maybe this will help. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1182495 -

It sure has the windows and roof line of a Hatch. Even the wheels look Subaru. But the sides have a line not on EA81's and the fenders have a flare thats not EA81 also. The side markers are usually on JDM stuff. -
It might be cheaper to buy some of those off-road vinyl seat covers. I would rather wheel in comfort than have a rash from hard plastic seats. Just another sign of old age I guess:rolleyes:

I plan on removing my carpet also, but if you need waterproof seats.....thats too wet:rolleyes: Are you going to be wearing a bathing suit too?

5 Speed Trans Durabliity-Input Your Knowledge
Turbone replied to Gravityman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I havent a clue on the mileage of the 5spd D/R in my Hatch but it has to be well over 100K. It was transplanted from something else before I got it. But its mated to a Nissan T-Case and I havent had any problems with it on or off-road yet. -
Now, I would never do something like that on purpose:rolleyes:

I'm sorry, would you 2 please re-read the title on this thread? Its about a run up to a local ORV place that a group of us (Tha Hatch Patrol) have been going to for several years now. There was nothing stated about it being a strictly Subaru run at all. Yeah, your n00bs and all, but if you knew the history of some of the members that have been here for a while, you would see that they have been wheeling hard core Soobs for a long time. And have set the standard (quite high at that) for doing major mods for off-roading our Soobs. We need a beotch slap emoticon:rolleyes:

Thats weird, I checked the link and it worked. Now it doesnt:rolleyes: Its all cool tho, theres lots of other links.

85 GL-10 does not want to turn off
Turbone replied to Subieguy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Even tho its a GL-10, he never said it was a turbo. They did come without. And they never came stock with a turbo timer:rolleyes: -
I think all the ones that I have are 86 and newer, but I will take a look.

Thanks for that link. I think I'm going for the 120amp one.

Is Something Wrong with Me??
Turbone replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Absoulutely normal. My XT6 has been sitting for months, waiting for a engine and tranny transplant. I have evrything, its just a matter of doing the labor:rolleyes: But I have a couple other Soobs to drive and I'm really enjoying my RX right now. But you need to get Bucky fixed, he is going to be your back up car. He may sit there for a while, but I can guarantee you, that XT6 is going to need work sooner or later and its going to be down for a little bit. The only mod I would do is putting rear disc brakes on and leave him the way he is otherwise. The simpler the better;) -
He's the guy I traded my truck for the Hatch. I was just looking at his gallery and theres pics of it stiil in there:-p

84 Brat, (answered) top strut question (pic)
Turbone replied to Indrid cold's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
My 82 FSM shows the orientation the opposite of the bottom pic. The narrow area is the 4wd direction, which faces front. So I guess the HTKYSA is wrong in this case and the others are correct. -
Poll: High compression turbo life
Turbone replied to kingbobdole's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Caleb probably has the most experience with this. And probably the worst luck also:-\ -
They are just run of the mill 6 lug 15" Cheby rims:-p But to use them you need to modify your the rims or your drums/rotors. The safer, harder way is to have your drums/rotors machined to fit the rims. But then your stuck with that type unless you change out your stuff. The other way is to knock out 2 opposing studs, set the rim on the drum/rotor and mark where the rim where the 2 studs were knocked out. Drill the rim (carefully, mind you) and countersink the hole like the rest. Reinstall the studs and your ready to roll. I havent had any problems, no looseness or warping at all. You can also use Toyota wheels to do the same thing. Dont forget, you can still get peugeot 14" & 15" alloy and steel wheels. They are direct bolt ons.

New pix, tires mounted, fenders trimed... project 98% complete
Turbone replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Off Road
You will probably never know. Look under his screen name. He's been banned:dead: -
That sure looks like Jackie Chan and the Cannonball Run movie. I thought that was the infamous Turbo Hatch? Now residing up in Bellingham at a college I cant remember. Carfreak is the guy in the know on that deal. Oh, duh. Didnt see the caption at the bottom of the pic. But the other comments are correct. Heres a crappy pic of my first Hatch, back in 94.
