  1. Wowsers, your lights really do suck:-\ Dont think mine are that bad, but HID would be a definite improvement.
  2. I think MikeW has his mounted on the rear. Mine is strapped to the roof. If I roll I got that to protect my noggin:D Yeah, I know, not a great idea. But I'm working on a roll cage. I dont like the idea of having to remove/disconnect something to access the gear I have in the back.
  3. Yeah, it would be a shame to look in your rearview mirror and see your board sliding down the road. Still attached to the rack:eek:
  4. The headlights come on halfway? That needs to be clarified some:confused: I would suspect a frayed wire somewhere around the brake pedal/dash area. Have you checked the brake fluid yet?. Make sure the e-brake is all the way down also.
  5. Now you are "Officially" part of an elite group of people:-p Welcome to the club:headbang: You know where to go when/if you need parts and info:brow: GD, if it wasnt for deceased XT6's, we wouldnt have 5lug swaps:burnout:
  6. The outer rails are supposed to have nylon inserts, the inners are just sheetmetal screws. Any sealer should work.
  7. Hey John, glad to hear your stateside again. Even if it is AK:-p You might have to travel to find a decent Soob (Anchorage). Keep warm, good luck. Hey, check it out. CL for the win. http://anchorage.craigslist.org/search/car?query=subaru
  8. Something quick and easy to do is install a new OEM thermostat. If it still gets hot I would look at he rad.
  9. I have a set of Legacy LT seats in my Brat. I shifted the rails over the 1in rather tat using the option tsutomou used (might be a tad unsafe). Its a little more labor intensive, but the results are nice. I dont suggest using these seats if you are over 5'7, for the reasons GD stated. They work perfect for me, I'm 5'4. Another option no one has mentioned, are XT6 seats. These will put you lower in the car, I know someone who has them in his Brat and he is over 6ft.
  10. That be him. I thought he moved to CO a few years ago and he fell off the map I guess. Did a quick search.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20783&highlight=magnificent+subaru Nevermind, pics are no longer available on that server
  11. I think that would be a GL10 only option on the Sedans. But I've been wrong before:rolleyes:
  12. I also agree. I've dealt with Jason many times and have got excellent service. It helps when you only live about 13mi away too:brow:
  13. Here you go. Belongs to a past board member (Ross). He removed the rear hatch and had a tonneu cover made for it. Didnt work all that well, it leaked. I cant remember his board name otherwise you might be able to do a search and find more pics.
  14. Buy it by the foot I believe. I think I have a sample of the stuff packed in a box somewhere:rolleyes:
  15. The water supply can tap into the return heater hose. The return I believe goes into the pass side head. Its been awhile since I messed with a EA81T:rolleyes:
  16. Years ago I found some from JCW. I never actually used it but quite sure it will work. Do you need it for both doors? I might have one side.
  17. Andy, dont screw around with that stuff. Just get a EA82Turbo and the DP/Upipe. Straight across swap.
  18. Saw a set of Hankooks on a rig today. Man those things are knarly, great side lugs. I wouldnt hesitate to buy a set of those next time I'm in the market. The Buckshots might be alright for the road, but I wouldnt offroad them. Theres no protection for the sidewalls.
  19. I'm a tentative. Not sure what will be going on then.
  20. What a coincidence. Mines black too:brow: With black topper and silver wheels and stock height tho. I have the chrome Brushman bumper guard (semi)installed now too. tsutomu, you can always buy one tire at a time:-p
  21. SAS in a XT has been done, but it was a XT6 which has plenty of room in the engine bay for something else. It had plenty of torque with the ER27 for the solid axles, but he couldnt see squat in front of him. There is another member who had a small block Chevy in his Hatch, but the engine was tired and he ended up toasting it and swapping in another EA81 (I think). http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/data/500/3017xt6-061.JPG
  22. Scanned in PDF format for the XT and XT6. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=13656&size=big&cat=500
  23. Lets see if I can do it as a PDF attachment. If it doesnt work, give me your email addy and I'll send it that way. BLWRMTR2.pdf
