  1. If it smells like something died in there, then most likely something did. You will need to take the ducting apart and drop the squirrel cage out of the housing to find the deceased varmit. Then clean liberaly with the strongest disenfectant you can find. You may still have to use air freshners for a while. Winter is coming, you dont want to gag everytime you turn the heater on
  2. Is the car a one off or concept? Could your buddy from the U get you some info on it?
  3. Sure, anything but Fram. Purolator is a good brand, not sure if they make FF. But if you want peice of mind, go OEM.
  4. Yes, I've learned the "hard way". You will need to have patience when mating the tranny up to the engine. Spinning the TC will help line it up and when thats done you can tighten up the bolts thru the hole where the starter goes.
  5. Well, I'm not sure if agreeing with the guy you were talking to at work makes me look good here :-\
  6. If you put it on the block first you run the risk of screwing up the pump. You need to put the TC on the tranny and turn it till it locks in on the shaft. Thats the only way to do it, sorry.
  7. Like this.... Look above the window you are typing your message in. You will see the globe and a chain link. You will need to have your pic hosted at our Picture Gallery, or else your own. When you first click on it, it will ask for the text message. This is just what you want to call the pic. Once you hit enter it will come up with antoher window for the link. If your link alread has the HTTP in front, just delete the one in the window. Hit enter, after you make your link of course, and then you can preview the post. This way you can tell if it works or not. Or if its not big, you can use the other way by posting a image. 82 GLF 2WD 5spd with Weber = Fast
  8. Hey Corky (I thought I would be the first to ask) Are you going to drop an EJ in it? I'm sorry, I just couldnt resist  Must be the drugs :-p
  9. I seem to recall that it came from SOJ race team.
  10. Go to the JY and get another alt
  11. Pat, thanks for the offer. And I am surrounded by Soobies Now if I could just bring em in the house
  12. Well, it obviously runs, and somebody has alot of fun offroad with it by its looks. I know of a few of Soob owners that have cars that dont run.... Me included, but I'm 2 for 3
  13. Actually Boosted84 was talking about rallysub. Even with my memory, I know that a deer hit his Imp and his RX isnt running right either. I think the only reason you need to have a BOV, is if you increase your boost, add a IC and do some serious Rally'n.
  14. Well its not the XT6 from the Show, I got it alot cheaper than that one. And the car is faster than any EA81T/EA82T. And no, my surgery is tomorrow at 1pm. And if the Tooth Fairy delivered it, I would be missing alot of teeth
  15. Yup, a 89 XT6 with FT4WD 4EAT with 80K on it. Needs some work, air susp of course and some sheet metal bent back. But in all, its pretty nice. Did I mention I like black? I'm going to try and get another pic of all 3 together before the T-Coupe leaves.
  16. I would make sure the disty matches the #1 TDC. If not, reset it. Check all the plug wires and firing order, again.
  17. Eh, when I quoted his post, it only did half of it and I had to go back and edit it. Dont want to misquote a quote
  18. I was just trying to point out to Beavis that subyrally already tried the shot of starter fluid. He (subyrally) also mentioned earlier that he knows the correct way to install timing belts. I think its possible that with a new srt of plugs he might get it started. I also think that maybe the coil/disty isnt putting out enough juice. What color does the spark look like? Blue or orange? Now if I could remember which color is hotter.... Stupid drugs
  19. I agree. Drive the crap out of it. I do that everytime I get in the wifes 86 T-Wagon. I learned not to do that while shes in the car tho :-\
  20. Subyrally - Quote, i set the timing on the ditsy to tdc. the timing belts are still in sink. i checked for spark, it were there. pulled a plug and smelled gas, so the injectors are working. i tried starter fluid and the car didnt even try to start, i just got a single "pop" from the tail pipe.
  21. Kevin, I was going by your latest results with the new exhaust.
  22. Then what do you need our help for, brainiac? Sorry, just couldnt resist You are getting fuel, right? If you are I guess pulling the plugs out and checking them for fouling is the next step. Check for spark from the coil also, they have been know to die on older Soobs.
  23. What other parts do you need for the rear discs?
  24. Rated at 150hp. Can be improved with larger exhaust and few other goodies.
  25. Could be the control box for the power windows.
