Well, if you take the old belts to the parts store it will help them to replace it. Also, them knowing the specs of your car will give them a clue also.

I think PC fans run at 5/6v, you might fry them at 12v. Lets see, will running them parellel drop the voltage? Been a long time since I did this stuff....

With the engine idleing, where is the needle? It may not be the gauge, but the sending unit.

This is a kind of off the wall question, but could you go back to the Justy and see if it has the black centercaps? Btw, nice score -
Most of my comments on the ride were, EWWW, AHHH, and lots of silly giggles. Very noticible and really makes a diff on the twisties and corners. I want one on my 86 GL10 Turbo Wagon now.

oh what a sad sad XT6 story
Turbone replied to lonewolf's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Man, what a sad story It sure sounds like he was out boondocking in your car. First of all, I would get ahold of your GF's Mom, and make sure this rump roast no longer has hunting rights on her property. Then, if its in a small town it shouldnt be to hard to pass the word around about him (if its not already known). Then do whatever you can to make him pay for the necessary repairs. And I hate to say it, but never take your car to a tractor mechanic. -

What to Do? Opinions Please!!!!
Turbone replied to mkarns's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
First of all, I would tell the mech thank you very much for replacing my waterpump and may I have the bill please? After that I would get my car away from him pronto, and find a more reputable mech, recommeneded by friends preferably. Or find someone from the board who can do the HG's for you, if thats the problem. Just because the heater started blowing cold air doesnt mean the HG is gone. From what you are saying there was no warning, ie - no over heating, the most common precursor of a head gasket failure. I hate to say it, but I think this mech might have done further damage to your car. Do you know him personaly? I see you said the garage was a reputable one, but have they had many complaints? Anyway, I would advise on another opinion. -
Ok, whens the next lunch. I've never been there yet, and I'm close (almost ) to Corky's age. I'm not much for hot wings, but I can handle the scenery

will weber air filter fit under the hood of unlifted ea81 hatch?
Turbone replied to the sucker king's topic in Off Road
The regular filter wouldnt fit on my 82 GLF w/Weber. I had to get the short filter. I didnt notice a difference in breathing. -
This should be the same tranny as my 3AT 4wd Turbo Coupe, and my diff is a 3.70.

Remove the hood Caleb. I too did the hot spark thingy, but I was 10ft or more away from the car. Didnt notice I was spraying the side of the car wtih sparks

And I might also add, how do you explain the ones that have lasted for years in this position?

I cant remember if you answered this in your other thread, but did you see if the rotor was loose/spinning on the disty shaft? The set screw might have snapped, and is not turning with the shaft. -
