NEW to the Forums
Miles, what about the axles? Remember the splines are different, the turbo axles are 25, and the non-turbo is 23.

got the RX started.. FIXED! Trivia time!
What do the plugs look like for 3 and 4? All you changed was the timing belts originally? I think we're missing something here, and cant pin it down. The key is its the 2 back cylinders. You did put a new cap on, right?

cutting filter box
With my 86 Turbo Wagon it wouldnt hit redline. With the bottom of the box cut out, it hits 6K+

Timing Belts 87 GL10
It sounds like the tensioner is not all the way up. The correct routing and steps are to attach the belt to the crank sprocket, the oil pump spocket, the belt idler, then the cam sprocket. Make sure you have tension on the bottom of the belt, then loosen the tensioner. It takes a special tool to tighten the belt by the cam sprocket, but the belt tension is supposed to be between 24-46lbs. I've only done 2 belt installs, and tighten them by pushing down on the tensioner. I havent had any belt slap yet, even at high R's. Subi81, nice pics. But does it run?

Old School Representation *Warning NC-17*
I think someone is too far away from the beach. And theres one that needs to realise that fast cars and fast women have been together longer than me and a few others here.

Coping with a Subaru Addict
I'm also printing it up. Hope you dont mind, I will be giving it to the Missus. Dont forget about the "Sooby Radar", almost like the one where your driving and you spot something out of the corner of your eye. But in this case you dont even see it, you just "sense it".

Mystery of the Heat Gauge????
Ok, let me put it this way: How old is the waterpump?
-
chaser and justy mods
Isnt the Chaser the 3dr Hatchback? As far as I know, no one yet has lifted a Justy beacuse there hasnt been one fabricated (or a desire to do so).

Change the fuel filter lately?

Bad coil bad coil
Well, the car is only 18yrs old. And I put a 18yr old coil back on:D It just seems lately that alot of people have been putting on the Accel 8140, and that some of them have been failing. There could be alot of things contributing to the failures, one of them being QC.

Mystery of the Heat Gauge????
I had a problem like this with my 86 GL10 Turbo wagon. After replacing the waterpump the problem was gone. You should be able to find a cap for the recovery tank at the JY.

accel coils rule!
Give it a few months, it will leave you stranded somewhere. Trust me, and some other folks. Switch to the yellow or the mega spark. http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12600

How unrealistic is a N/A MPFI EA81?
Brian, I know how much you want to use the EA81T. But remember, the injectors are in the heads. If you use another intake system, you will have to plug the bosses. I would suggest using a EA81 NA block and put the early EA82 MPFI intake on. The ECU will be able to handle it. I think it would be a much more reliable off road rig. And theres always someone looking for a good EA81T. Just my .02

Wow, that was a great turnout. Almost 100 vehicles, and 5 Soobs in the top10. Dominating:D

can you tell me what yr. is my EA81?
Ok, your car was made till (I believe) 88. Whatever you do, dont tell the parts store the year of your car. All they do is give you the wrong parts and argue with you. Its best to go with 84 as the year, cause its basically the same thing and the parts are correct. The specs are also the same. Timing is 8 deg BTDC Head torque is: 1st step 22ft lbs 2nd step 43ft lbs 3rd step 47ft lbs Check to see if there is a label on the side of the valve covers saying not to adjust the valves. This would mean you have hydraulic lifters.

still no luck
Just fixed a no-start prob with my 86 GL10 Turbo wagon. Turned out to be the coil (4 months old). It had spark, but not enough.

Subarino's lifted Hatch
Not quite true SJ. He said himself that his is one of five in Oz.

Informed Seller?
The auction says it has a clear TN title.

'85 Subaru gl-10 wagon
I would have the Alt checked out. With a wire on the back that looks fried, something is going on. Also the ignitor module is known to have these symptoms, a disty replacement would be in order.

Subarino's lifted Hatch
Good, I see he got his Roo Bar on:D Thats the best looking Hatch in Oz.
