Its not that hard to get to. Inside the trunk above the spare tire, inbetween the speakers. As for the wires, thats going to be a pain. But I'm not sure you will need them, and I'm not sure you even need the ECU. You have MPFI in your car now, dont you? The parts I need are the dash (not the cluster), the drivers side door panel and maybe the hood. What color is the exterior? How did you manage to get the intake for free? You should have got all the stuff with it. Sorry, should have read it better, you have a carb. You need everything that was on the intake. And the ECU, and wiring. And fuel pump. I know theres more, but I cant remember this late at night.

The ECU is in the trunk, but its between the speakers under the deck. What yard is the XT in? I need some interior parts. Is it a gray interior?

Are those Chevy wheels? Nice looking Hatch. Give it a dozen trips on the trail and it will look like mine:D

That wasnt a river, it was one deep mud puddle:brow: Sorry to hear about your troubles Austin. But dont feel bad, Qman is having fits with his Weber also. -
Not unless you have a Weber to go with it. There is no airbox (Turbo, MPFI,SPFI only) mod on a carbed Soob either, it has a standard aircleaner on top of the carb. Get some good tires if you want to RallyX. Plug wires and a hotter coil will help, along with the exhaust.

Thats Johns (aka Mudrat). It has a 2.2 Legacy engine with AT in it. And a 12in lift. He made diff hangers for it. You can do a search for more info.

Well, you can tell I had fun. And yes, I did break something. The left side diff hanger lost a bolt, then during one of my runs I pulled the other one out. It slowed me down some, but Mike(thanks again) had some extra bolts and I was able to get it reattached for the drive home. Most fun I've had in a while, even with the bad back. -
Nice Score for $50 today

Sorry, the car is long gone. Didnt think to remove the crossmember:rolleyes: Oh well. Scooby, not meaning to diss you or anything, BUT, for someone who has just got his first Soob and doesnt have alot of knowledge about it and the workings of it. I would suggest you use the car as-is for a while. I know you havent been driving it much (if you have - bad boy), but once you get your license back, you can put some more miles on it. Then after a while, start looking for a EA82T GL10 Wagon. They are great cars, I have one. Theres other Turbo models out there also. I just think your putting alot of unnecessary work into something that you may have second thoughts about. -

Opening the front of the cluster isnt necessary. The piece that holds the lamps is on the back/right side, and I posted the pics of disassembly. On other clusters I have removed I have found that a very long screwdriver used to pop off the speedo collar works well. If its still hard to get to and remove, detach it from the tranny. It will give you the slack you need up above. -

Al, the dash in question is a digidash. There are some larger bulbs in the black rubber sockets like yours. I think thats the size your talking about. I posted this because I noticed there was a difference between the 2. Are you including the wire in the measurement? The actual bulb itself is a hair over 1/4 (sorry, no mic). -
Might check the connections at the Alt, make sure they are tight.

Maybe check your grounds, considering you had the engine out for repairs.

I'm thinking this is VERY bad

:cornfuzz: :cornfuzz: :cornfuzz: :cornfuzz: Now how the he[[ did that happen? It actually looks like it was done on purpose. And I'm not saying Matt did it, it just looks man made. EA81 engines are all over. I know theres a couple in the Tacoma PAP right now. dont know what they charge for one tho. Give em a call - 253 588-1775. -

Al, I opened up a 87 AT cluster after reading your post. Its similar, but different. Theres a small PCB with 2 receps for plugs that covers the display PCB. 3 screws for the small board, and 2 for the display board. The bulbs for the gear selection are real small. They might even be smaller than what you are showing. I've taken a few pics and added the links. Basically , the bulb is the same, just smaller. GR, my offer still stands if you cant find any. Board in Board out Gear selection The bulb -

In my 86 FSM, it doesnt show anything for the shift indicator. But most of the bulbs are 12v and 1.12-1.14W. I have 2 digidashes that were from AT's, and I'm sure theres working bulbs in them. Would you like a few?
