The reason he isnt allowed to drive it at the moment is becuase I still have the title. It hasnt been paid in full yet, and he is doing work on it. Believe me, I will be back. And I will have a better rig, and like I commented in another thread, it will be built by me. The biggest reason for the sale was because of my back. That last run we made to Kanaskat was a wake up call Once things get straightened out (surgery), I'll be looking for my next 4x rig.

The lights dont cost that much, and if the old light is good at least you have a spare.

Thanks Austin, communication is sometimes forgotten when people get preoccupied. Good to know things are still on a even keel. -
She needs to know that off roading is good wholesome fun (I was going to say clean, ha). It will keep you off the streets and out of trouble, so to speak. If you dont get to crazy and get yourself stuck or to broken to drive out. I hope he doesnt drive it on the street to much, its not really good for a daily. But I'm sure he's going to enjoy it When my next project shows up, I'll have pics and stats.

Sold the Hatch today to DeathHatch (catchy name, eh?). He has a new color scheme in mind, and we should see him on the board more, hopefully. He might be looking to go wheeling sometime soon also Hopefully my "New Project" will be showing up this weekend, and I will be posting some pics of it. It needs a motor transplant, so it wont be on the road right away. But I think ya'll gonna like it Its a streeter, not a off roader.

When my diff was open, I was getting stuck all over the place, even in snow. It did ok in the mud, which surprised me. Once I got the welded diff in it was a whole nother story. The car wouldnt stop, it would just dig in and keep going. My diff hanger has been bent from the begining, and it still is :-\ There hasnt been any axle or stub problems, that may be because mine is a hatch (this will be all past tense after today ) Altho on our last outing I tore out the left side diff mount I wouldnt go any other way, except maybe a locker (straight axle).

I may have one for you this weekend.

A manual would be a good idea also -
Does the steering wheel move up and down in the column at all? I had a 85 wagon that did this, and I found out theres a poly collar around the shaft at the top. It wears out eventually and the wheel knocks and moves around some. I dont know if this is the same setup as yours tho, so this could be just pointless rambling at 1:30am.

Metal cutting blade on a Skil Saw works too. Just be carful not to cut into the rim

Well for one thing, your explanation is a little confusing. You might have blew out your low beams. If so you are going to have to buy new headlights. I would also have your alternator tested as the regulator might have been damaged, not to mention the rest of the unit.

The condition of all the hoses, escpecially the water lines and specifically the ones that cool the turbo. You may want to ask when the timing belte were changed last, but you may change them again just for peace of mind. You might see about a CarFax also. Did you ever get my email about the John Muir book? -
Well, it sounds like you have a good start on it. There has to be a way to find out where he took the cars. Is there a local place that takes scrap? Maybe they can tell the cops that he brought the cars in. And for all you folks that want to do bodily harm to the perp, I just want to say that this creep needs to go to jail. Where he can end up being Bubba's Beeotch

It sounds more like the DOJ came off the stub axle. Maybe there was no pin in it? It needs to be lined back up with the pin hole and pushed back on. Then replace the pin, and Lower ball joint (I assume), and you should be good to go.

Theres no need to walk around on egg shells here. Lots of us have made "Faux pas" (Fr.), and if we dont step on any toes its ok  Intentional stabs and pokes usually are between people that know each other well enough to not cause hurt feelings Rants about certain things are exceptable I think, but it depends upon the topic. Eh, just my .000002

Yea, see if you can get a salvage title for it. Please try and keep the car complete and not part it out -

Geeze, some people have all the luck J/K Glad you got it fixed. -
You should be ok, if you stay out of 4wd. I know the diff isnt much, but why take a chance?

Basically, its just a labor intensive job. If you have done it before its not too bad. And are you thinking of the same XT I am?
