  1. If you have access to a lift.. Its REALLY easy to tell.
  2. Wow, thats awesome... props for saving another soob... alot of people would have scrapped it.
  3. Well, first off the lifters need to be pumped up either by hand or when you first start you car after say, a HG job... Second, mine smoked when I restarted my motor after a reseal (didnt smoke before) but it quickly wore itself out..
  4. On the swing-arm in the rear, on the side facing toward the inside of the car theres a locknut with 4 tabs that is removed to allow the bearing on that side to be removed. Seems like everytime I need to get that out I have to fight it for about an hour before it lets me win. Is there a tool where I can just put it on and get it over with? Part number of some kind maybe for a special tool? Thanks.
  5. Yeah, could be anything from a radiator cap to a headgasket... Or a combination of the whole cooling system in my cars case.
  6. Hmm.. I have a real bad shake in my front end that's been getting worse.. I change both CV axles today so I'll let you know if that shake goes away.
  7. Mine used to tick really bad till I reasealed/cleaned the whole engine including the oilpump seals.. now its pretty quiet.. and i start my car at 2am.
  8. Most definately.. good point. Other than that I think they're overrated. We totally just hijacked a post didnt we Brian Sorry about that! I'll stop.

  10. wrong... OBD 1 doesnt have a comprehensive mode for missing sensors or extremely false inputs. By having no o2 sensor.. your gonna be stuck in safe mode.
  11. Could be a voltage regulator... most are internal meaning you might need another alternator.. but before you go doin all that, check the connections at the back of the alternator.. ive had the wire back there get cut about 3/4 of the way through and it caused an irratic charge reading.
  12. Easy fix... install an aftermarket temp gauge.. when i have a 180 tstat in.. it never gets above 195 or so and thats going up some serious hills with roughly 1000-1500 pounds of crap in the back.
  13. your not running an o2 sensor? .. thats not good.
  14. subaru is a 5 year 60,000 mile warranty (atleast my impreza had that warranty)
  15. Alot of times it can be as big as almost 1/8" high.. Makes it a REAL pain to get it to come off.
  16. I'd guess the gasket on the one side having 10, 10. Same with the other side, only not as bad.. but still, holy low compression batman.
  17. Hahaha, Its continued through the weekend... it just hasnt been my weekend at all!!
  18. 10, 10, 90, 52? you've got some pretty tore up HG's or rings I'm guessing.
  19. rocks are bad for soobs.
  20. Forgot ER27 and 33.. But, check out what milesfox just posted, he's got excellent motor info.
  21. So can you feel that lip on the inside of the drum i was talking about?
  22. While your car is running and warm, check your tranny fluid level to make sure its ok.
  23. No no no, you need a big f'n hammer.. what happens is the shoes over time wear the inside of the drum down and theres a little lip that ends up hanging up.. you need to just brute past it.. I'm guessing your brakes are about 1% by the time they get to this point.. atleast mine have been.
