95 tacoma 4x4 VS 80's Dodge Cummins turbo diesel 4x4
I like the toyotas as a personal preference on the trucks, the cummins allthough a good motor has some problems with the front hubs. They tend to go through them. Just a personal opinion.

Trans and Diff Fluid.... What Kind
In my hatch I am using royal purple syncromax in the transmission and the rp sythetic 75 90w oil in the lsd with the bg lsd addative. I have had no troubles with either the trans or rear diff with lsd for several thousand miles.

LSD or Not
Both rear tires will turn in the same direction when you are rotating one side. Otherwise the other side may turn but in the opposite direction on the non lsd unit.

Weber on the 1600.
I don't think that will be a problem either. You are at sea level so you will have it even easier.

Weber on the 1600.
Should be no problem there compared to the ea81. Jetting might be just a little leaner from it being a slightly smaller displacement.

Ea81t as core for n/a rebuild
I am sure there are plenty of guys and gals on here that would trade you a decent ea81 na motor for your ea81t motor if you choose.

Ea81t as core for n/a rebuild
As far as I know they are the same block with a different cam and dished pistons. I am not sure if the combustion chambers are really different cc's wise but they may be a little bit different.

Winter tires again sorry?
Jerry DeMoss replied to gcleeton's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWinterforce, wintermaster, blizzaks, hakki's, hankook icepike's, there is a few more that I can't quite think of right now but the new technology behind winter tires is becoming alot better and the selection is alot more vast than that of 5-10 years ago.

What's a good NGK plug for the EA82??
Ngk v power is what they meant. Not sure if that really helps over the good old standard ngk plug as said above. Can't go wrong with ngk. That is what I have been running in all of the cars I work on from Jeeps to subies to vw's.

280zx injectors
Yep they fit. There have been a few people that have talked about those before on here. I am sure there is a bit of info on setting them up with mega squirt or something like that.

Those rotors along with a set of decent pads and stainless steel brake lines you will have one of the best stopping 4 lug ea cars around! I hope those are going on some sort of rally/ play subie?

Subaru Sambar - UPDATE!
When I used to work at a fish canery in Alaska they used those quite a bit to haul things around on the docks. Never drove one though.

I think 20th/21st sounds good. I won't argue with the week prior though if we go that route.

Weber install: backfire from intake.
Good thinking man! That is a great idea. Can't wait. I am already excited about it. More jets to look at and tuning ahead.

Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
Me too! Really glad you saved it from its misery. Definately a one of a kind. What motor is that in there? What size? Looks like for its day it may have been a pretty peppy little car.

Weber install: backfire from intake.
Don't think the valve timing is off since that was never touched. It is a low mile ea81 so I think that part is perfectly fine since it ran good with the stock hitachi. It just makes me a little sad to see Jay put so much work into his car and not having going. I will have to look into the carb workings a little more cause it still seems that there is something funny about this particular weber. I have seen many people throw on a weber and with minimal effort have it screaming in no time. We did find some little metal particals in the float bowl when we removed the top portion of the carb to change out the main jets and air corrector jets back to the stock settings. I think that some of the casting/flashing may have found a way to come loose a little bit after putting some fuel through it. I will have to check all of the little ports on the carb to confirm this. Any other ideas? I want this thing to go as much as Jay and Shawn do.

Weber install: backfire from intake.
Well we made some head way. The cat was getting kinda plugged so we switched that out which made for much better vacuum. Also there is no vac leaks at all on the car. We checked everything. Also the distributor was a bit off which Mr. Yeti will fill us in on a little more.
