  1. count me in! make plans for sometime next year, (when i will be a little closer than MN... ) and I will see if my imp and I are up for the challenge- but Im sure I will be! (lets get the photo/video crew goin'!) maybe SOA will help sponsor the trip for publicity on their cars? I happen to have the connections, and I could talk to some of the SOA people next time I run into them  (but that may take a while)

im glad i am only going to use MPFI or alternate power sources from now on....
  3. yes, but wouldnt it be even cooler, if the jeep guys saw not only a Subaru, but a Subaru Impreza on the trail!?
  4. Hmmm... may have to think about this one I will see about going, depending on the status of my impreza... I need to be sure its all ready to go offroad without breaking much.. I need to get a few extra parts stored up, and probably my tires first.. including a spare- anyone have an extra steel subaru 15" ? (5x100) forester or other, as long as it fits... among other things, I will need the skid plate and steering rack changed over... and possibly some other minor adjustments..
  5. yeah, its an EA81 long pushbar.. i modified it to fit the impreza... although, it needs some refinement- i need to readjust it due to my trimming of the bumper... its strong though!
  6. yep! my finger and thumb both are pretty red.... I might black out the wheels and the bumper.. maybe just the bumper... or the snorkel and bumper? I dont know.... its work in progress afterall!
  7. here ya go! this is still work in progress, but here is what is done so far.... the snorkel, i couldnt route it thru the fender, as there wasnt as much room as there is on the EA cars... but it turned out ok I think here is the paint job, I tried to do this as budget as possible, which made it look rather silly... and I have not finished the other side, due to some technical errors... what do you think? i figured, it can be cheap and cheesy, it is for offroad anyways!
  8. heres the snorkel! all glued, screwed and painted!
  9. woo! cool.. its a lot smaller than my sub box... but at least you will be able to hold cargo, unlike me hehehe.... should sound pretty good though!
  10. you could also do an LSD up front, and then lock or LSD the rear.. that way you dont over stress the front, but still get a slight added traction advantage
  11. well, I am nearing completion of my snorkel pics will be up soon.... one question about the ECU issue.. in my 94 impreza, isnt the ECU under the passenger kick plate on the floor? or is it under the steering column? i havent looked for it yet.. but it might be good to know before i go dunk the car in water.... of course, if nobody knows I will check for it myself and then let you know!
  12. I have started working on my car tonight, and so tomorrow I dont think I should get it dirty- it will hinder the progress of the project in the morning, I will continue to work on what i started tonight... i need a few more parts from the hardware store, then I can head on down after I finish bolting new additions to my imp and on the way there, I need to stop at a walmart- to pick up a few more supplys (for the "cant get it dirty yet" project") hopefully the weather will be good tomorrow.. my project depends on it so I will be ready and down there shortly after you guys are, most likley- I will call, or be expecting your calls-
  13. wow was that from waterwagon? i have had axles worse than that one.. so bad.. they .. umm.. well.. i didnt really pull much of the axle out of the car due to it not being there when i went to change it, but that is one of the stages in leading up to that point! good show on the interview+food+parking lot repair! makes me wonder if I should start carrying my spare axle in the impreza :-\
  14. sounds good... i have a bunch of things i need to get done to my car, supposedly the weather will be good this weekend.. got anything to do on your car? maybe a "work party" should be in order i could bring over the air compressor and tools too if needed.... they will fit in the back of my car!
  15. well, if you guys are ready for a J/Y meet.. let me know, email me, or give me a call to meet up- (call friday eve, or sat morning) 206-856-7797 new parts list, thanks to Ed.. all i need now, is fenders, hood, headlights and scrap metal! (no, i didnt crash, i just want to fix my dents and broken parts!)
  16. dang! and i am way out here now :-p i will go to the next years one if thats ok do good, prove that subaru owners care, and have fun! oh, and on a side note.. does anyone know if there is some sort of legal way to remove mostly whole cars from that site? cause im sure that someone with a large trailer could take whole cars out of there, (the beat up, burned, squished, ect..) and drop them off at a recycler, for free or some cash! (not to mention, a large chunk of garbage thats now not out on the trail)
  17. yipee! any offroad up north? camgrounds?
  18. I could make it to this one, but some people at firestone tonight told me about the Duluth trip.. and now i dont know which one to plan on?! ahh! I will look into this more and figure out which one i am going to-
  19. if you, ed, (or anyone else thats willing), can get me some parts I can send money!!! and obviously pay postage too! if someone would like to help me out, give me a call when you plan to check out that car at PAP, and i can let you know what parts I need....
  20. wooooooo!!!!! nice! let me know when the gen1 impreza lifts are ready I will have to save up though.. living in an apt alone for the first time is hard stuff!
  21. I still am not familiar with where the good/bad/cheap junkyards are in this area, so would any of you local subaru nuts like to tour around the area with me so i can find some parts that I reallllly need before winter? still need the imprezas steering rack.. and i would like to get to building a snorkel, and a roofrack cage give me a pm, email or call on the cell if any of you would like to help out and hang out!
  22. i would love to join in on that trip, in fact.. I had spoken to a few people at WCSS7 about doing that very same trip! if you can hold off till winter 06/07 i may be able to go along.. with my roadtripping being my kinda thing to do it may be helpful and safer if I am there keep the things you learned in boyscouts in practice.. they come in useful when your out in the middle of nowhere :-p maybe get a caravan of subarus going? it would be a fun "meet-n-greet" road trip/multiday campout journey!
  23. i couldnt seem to find any pics of my impreza doing anything cool, so I had to take a still shot from my upcoming DVD! after doing the banked hill turn thingy? hard impact on the front! splashing thru the mud... not too challenging... did anyone happen to capture my impreza with their digi?
  24. oh man! i hate it when the city tells ya stuff like that if it needs to move under its own power, can you just throw a carbed EA engine in it for temporary? (easy hook ups) just a thought..... cant wait to see it end up like waterwagon, only bettter right? (no rat nest of wires? ) and this trip to seattle.. will this be a visit, or a perminant trip?
