getting rusty clutch off old motor
MaroonDuneDoom replied to PoorManzImpreza's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i reccommend beer and a prybar, jk. try a prybar w/some rubber between the clutch and pressure plate. you'd have to be really careful though. you probably should waight for someone w/some experience to tell you how to properly do it. well, at least this will put her on the top for ya. good luck -

86 GL Wagon 4wd motor ticking
MaroonDuneDoom replied to torxxx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i think what he's referring to as MMO is Mystery Motor Oil. supposedly baddass stuff. couldn't hurt. in fact, i'm certain that it will help a bit at least. if it's not serious, sometimes it just goes away after additives. -
i'm going to flush my radiator/heater core and i am wondering how to pull the core w/minimal headaches. thanks all

sorry to bug ya again, but were you referring to the 3/4 byb lift or do they now make a 4/4?

clutch slips BAD what to replace?
MaroonDuneDoom replied to MaroonDuneDoom's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
how exactly could an improperly adjusted cable make my clutch slip? i HOPE, oh how i hope that this might at least help my problem. thanks again FOX -
subarubrat, are these setbacks you mentioned; "On the EA81 get ready to dish the inner fender well in the front, wear CV joints like tires and in the rear, get ready to move brackets on the tortion bar tube and ditto on the CVs." typical on ea81's w/suspension lift or ea81/82's w/byb body lift. i plan on running about 25-27" tires on my rig after the lift. will my CV's get worn fast?

FAN: belt -vs- electric
MaroonDuneDoom replied to trooperjeep's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
snowman, excellent diagram/idea. how ould i go about wiring so that i can have it run by thermo. or w/a switch. not just turning the fan off through the thermo. maybe i am way off here. in your diagram, if the switch was turned to off, would the fan still turn from the thermo sensor? -
FAN: belt -vs- electric
MaroonDuneDoom replied to trooperjeep's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Since my in a 92 Loyale, will trick to... " locate the wiring going the the electric fans motor. You will see where the control relay wires kinda T's into the harness. Un-plug the relay wiring, and put the connectors for the fan wiring back together. Now your electric fan will run as a non-ACed car would" ...work on MY car? could you clarify your terminology? thanks -
