Pulling other's out

Featured Replies

What have you pulled out with a subie?

I pulled my friend's 1995 toyota extrended cab long bed with 31" mudders out of mud up to his doors. It took three hits, but the car dragged it out.

I tried to pull a 40 series land cruiser with 33" MTs out of a bog - sunk up to the floor in sticky mud - that didn't work at all. Dug some good holes in the gravel trying. Turned out we needed two other 4wds and a tow truck all pulling at the same time to get it out!

I have pulled out a Hilux with 31"s on a few occasions.

My friend's '92 Legacy wagon towed me out of some deep snow in my Protege...while he was in the same snow.

A picture speaks a thousand words...........

Poor guy had his whole family with him. What was he thinking taking a Jeep into "Gnome's Hole"

I've pulled out way more than my share of my buddies' heeps. I can think of 3 heeps, 1 of which many times, 1 ranger, and one mazda 323....

John [the sucker king] pulled my disabled wagon out 13 miles of dirt with multiple stream crossings. We passed a Jeep Grand Cherokee on the way out.

In parrell.....

After some tugging, and sliding sideways towards eachother we managed to yank the heep out of the frozen pond.

No, but it's fun to pretend!

Dave wasn't actually stuck; he knocked some wiring loose and we just moved it to a dry spot to fix.

LOL; I think that Willys is about to show Dave how it's done!

One of my friends got run off the road today (and the guy at fault didn't even stop) and ended up getting his Sunfire stuck in 4" of muck and water in the middle of some tall grass. We left his car, ran to the hardware store to get a tow strap, which I'd been meaning to get anyway, and headed back to hook it up. I drove my WRX down into the grass (on a rediculous slope) and hooked up the cars. I was expecting to have to fight his car out of there, but it couldn't have been easier. If it were me who had been run off the road, I would have just driven out of the median and gone off chasing the guy who did it!

How many times, in your Soob, have you pulled (or towed) a car out of mud or snow? I've tried it with a Subaru pulling out a Ford Falcon but my other car, a Volvo (yes, I'm a bloody Volvo driver) just wrecks the ground!

Those Soobys are Strong!

I pulled the tractor out of the snow once. It was freakin' awesome!

Pulled a couple of smaller fallen trees out of the road as well.

One time I pulled this whole engine assembly out of the way at a junkyard so this dude in his new jetta could drive through. Some sort of small block V8. Just hooked on a chain, put it in 4lo, and drug it dow to the end of the isle.

I pulled my father in law's 85 3/4 ton Chevy out of the much with my old 84 wagon once. I had to put a new clutch in it right after that though.

I pulled my hair out trying to get my 88 GL running after putting it together , when I got the car the front end was smashed from a wreck . it ended up having some shorted out wires and a fried computer Scott

A burried RX

2 full size blazers

and a 2wd s-10 burried up to the floors.

I once pulled a F150 off of the mudflats with my Gen 1 Brat as high tide was rolling in, only to find out it had 800 pounds of illegally-caught salmon in the bed.

the problem with pullin stuff out with a subaru is the same problem they have hitting big rocks and hill.

you cant pull them out, you gotta jerk! just like you cant crawl, you gotta floor it!

LOL; I think that Willys is about to show Dave how it's done!

this guy? he had nothing on the hatch
