13" Justy wheels ?

Featured Replies

All i know is the bolt pattern on Justys is diff than that of regular 80's subarus with 13 inch wheels and 4 bolts. Not saying there arnt 13 inch wheels that will fit it but not subaru 13 inchers.

There are 13" wheels available. Some Justys came with them. I owned one. (Don't know where to get them, though...)

About a month ago I saw a justy with some 13" wheels at the junkyard. They were alloys and looked to be aftermarket of some kind.Wish I would've grabbed them.

Justy's have a 4x100mm bolt pattern, I think it's the same as the old civics. I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of options.

also 4 lug watercooled VW's, older 4 lug mazdas such as miatas and 323's, 4 lug bmw's(hot alloy 13"ers off a e21 320i)

the vw's are hub centric, not sure about any others or any offsets. there are several cool looking 13"ers from vw rabbits.

I think the old hondas, vw, toyotas, and fiats (and possibly others) all have that same small four bolt pattern, though not sure if the offset is the same on all of them.

There was a bodykit available in austria, and it came with 13" rims. There were even 14" rims available, but only on special order for the 1,2 Super Justy. The 1.0 Junior Justy had 12" and 13" as an option.

Hey Scott,

I bet we have some old Rabbit wheels around in the 4x100 size.

Be careful if you have an 87 or 88 Justy. My wife got one, and I put 13 inch Honda wheels on it. (4 x 100mm) But the rear wheel well area on the 87 and 88 is smaller than the 89+ years. I had to remove about 1/2 to 1 inch of body material from the front outer portion of the lowermost part of the well area to avoid tire rubbing when the suspension was compressed (bumps). Also had to cut some of the plastic from where the rear bumper fits on the aft outer part of the well.

As this is strictly a driver I wasn't too concerned with cosmetics. The front tires posed no problems. I could have repaired the areas I did surgery on to look stock however wasn't worth the effort.

The 13 inch wheels/tires perform much bettter in snow than the 12 inch.

Of course a lower profile tire might have helped but my main reason for doing this was to get a longer circumference overall for snow.

Good Luck!

I tried a honda and a toyota rim both have the right pattern but the center hole is to small hits on the front but not the back hub

I'll go out and measure one of my steelies for center hole dimensions and back spacing.

For winter duty I run Nokian NSW's in front and old Hakkapelettia NC 10's in the rear. I simply don't get stuck with these tires.

how much too small?? if it's just a little then it should be okay to enlarge it.

also try a saturn/GM 4X100 wheel. it has a larger hub center.

Fiat's use 4x98, same as Alfa's.. And won't fit 4x100.

Pretty much every old and new small jap car with 4 studs uses 4x100. Very popular size. But don't just go on that, try and measure it.

why wouldn't that work? 6-lugs are technically 6x 138.5. and it's barely even noticable.

How's it going with the search for wheels for your Justy?

For next summer, I'm going with a 195 45 15 tire. The car has 165 65 13 on it now. After looking over the wheels available, I'll probably go aftermarket with a 40 mm offset. As this car is so light to begin with, I want the lightest wheel I can get, for the money I'm going to spend. 10 to 12 pound each range.

Bigger tires and wheels, more weight, more diameter, will kill off some performance of your Justy. Throttle response takes a hit and the car won't handle as well over all.

One carbureted Justy I put 70,000 miles on. The stock size is 145 12", when I put 155 12"s on it, I could tell they weren't as good as stock, overall.

Tal

never thought of a neon I happen to have a old set of those

Hey Scott,

Here's some of the choices we have in diameter:

145/80-12>21.13 Stock on any carb Justy, probably.

165/65-13>21.44 Stock on any FI Justy, probably. Not much selection and the Bridgestones in this size are expensive.

155/80-12>21.76 I had a set of these on a carb Justy and hated them.

195/45-15>21.90 My choice for the pimped Justy. Lots of choices here in price.

185/55-14>22.01 Not sure what's available with these.

165/70-13>22.09 The tire I see most on FI Justys. Readily available and cheap, compared to the 165/65-13. Fits the wheelwell with no mods.

175/70-13>22.64 These are too big and will require modifications to fit them to the wheelwell.
