these are all brats?????? None of them look the same!!!!!

they had longbeds available overseas but that yellow one might look stretchy because of the camera angle and the shape of the topper's window...

Woah! Now THAT I did not know:eek:

They were 2WD 5 speeds with an extra 1(or was it 2?) ft of bed behind the rear wheels. Really silly looking actually. Isreal was the second largest subaru market in the 80's and early 90's and they were sold as delivery vehicles.

GD

Anybody have a pic of one?

GD- I believe you.....but now I just GOTTA see for myself!

More pics...?

I've never heard of the extended Brat.

Seems as though you'd flatten the springs if you put any load in the back?

Hummm.....

Rock and Roll! Thanks Skip, I'm flattered.

EZ

how hard is it exactly to "bob" a brat? what is involved? is it just cut and "paste/weld"?

  • Author

i've been wondering that myself. i saw a car on here in someone's picture folder that was bobbed front AND back?? I've been planning since day one of being into brats to bob one up, i just figured i'd cut and paste... REAL info would be nice!! haha

Just a li´l Question: What´s the Meanin´ of "Bob" a Car?

It's when you cut some of the bed off of a vehicle, to shorten it. creates less overhang for offroading. Look at Post #10 by Skip. See the white Brat that's shorter than normal? That's it.

The two brats in the pics are the same brat.

I bobbed it because the back corner was rusted out really bad. The previous owner had worked at a ski resort where he had hauled salt with the brat.

I believe I'll be part of bobbing another brat in a few months. A local here is going to lift, bob, and add a 2.2 mated to a 5spd d/r to his 82. He's gathered most of the ingredients, we just need to get it together. If I'm part of the lifting process, it will be my 14th.
