  2. Alright my transmission swapped brat guys. Looking to either get a 5 speed d/r or if I can find one 5 speed d/r fulltime 4wd with the center diff lock. But my question is what does it take to make the fulltime 4wd one work in my brat and can you swap the 3.9 into it and also the rear lsd and can you swap the 1.5 lo gear into one. Also if you have everything I need for sale for a swap post it too. Thanks

  3. Yep, 3 pin sensor serves for the ECU and gauge. So it's exposed to the exact same temperature, so a calibration issue seems most likely. But I don't like to encourage just swapping parts without diagnostics. Any codes? I'd point an infrared thermometer at the coolant bridge and verify actual temperature. And then read the temperature at the ECU via an OBDII reader. You can buy an infrared thermometer and OBDII dongle (read codes and temperature from you phone) on Amazon for $30-40 combined.

  4. Ok, got pics! This pic shows just how long the L series AWD locking centre diff pinion shaft really is: The EJ pinion shaft ends behind where the second straight splined section is. The OBX LSD is up front. The L series low range side gears are sitting where they would be with both cases joined together. You can see how close this comes to the LSD housing. You might also make out the shaving of the LSD retainer bolts, if not, here's a better pic: Locking centre diff, you can see the dog clutch in front of the diff: Here's my first modified pinion shaft with it's very crappy weld job. Apparently it spent the first part of its life behind an STi turbo engine in a brumby. I guess my little EJ22 L series was too much for it in some soft sand at Lancellin when it let go (we were loaded up for our trip out west). No shaving of the crown wheel in this pic. In this pic you can see the shaving on the outer edge of the teeth on the crown wheel: Low range oil feeders for cooling of the low range gears on long hill climbs - works a treat, I have no whining with my low range: For the EA application that's probably about all the pics I have to share. The others that I have are specific to mods required for the EJ dual range. All of the above pics are of my L AWD locking centre diff gearbox with a phase 2 (8 bolt) EJ gearbox I hope that answers a few things for you IROCDUDE89! And I understand if there's any wet undies, really though, it's kind of expected Cheers Bennie

  8. These Subaru head gaskets can leak for literally years, i know someone personally! He just carries enough water with him to keep the radiator full. There was a top speed guy, standing mile i think, and his head gasket leaked just perfect to give him more power for a bit

  9. No joke I was thinking about that last night. Granted it wouldn’t be that much movement due to the setup but I realized it couldn’t be hard mounted. I came up with a solution that would allow some play and give using a glad hand seal as a bushing. Ill keep you all posted on how it works out

  10. Fans will run when the ECU sees a temp sensor fault. It's traingular. Check that you have the tab in the correct position. Beyond that return it and get a new one. Try a napa higher end brand. It will likely be an OE sensor in a branded box for less money.

  11. I've tried the cardboard in front of the rad. But it was on an old car, and only to counteract a failed thermostat. And I don't think that it will help much in the severe cold of -38. I would replace the thermostat, either with a new OEM, or with a Stant equivalent (the one with a long spring). Someone on this board has a photo of the best thermostat to buy. But I don't envy you working under the car in such cold weather! EDIT: Just noticed that you have 2018. Take it back to the dealer...
