HEY!!!!!! your from reno too!!!!!!!!! anywho, the ecu units started in '83 because that was the first year subaru released its first fuel injection system(but it was turbos only) they never made a fuel injected N/A Ea81 motor(which is in your '82) so you should have a carbureted soobie.   5. i let it warm up and drove it around too and it didnt kick down it just went higher.......is the choke the big round thing in the back of the carb? yeah there is slack in the cable
  6. i just put on a different carb (craptachi) and it runs good. the only thing thats wrong is that it idles at like 1800rpm and the idle adjust screw doesnt work. on my other carb that didnt work either. is this a problem on most hitachi carbs? is it easy to fix? how do i fix it? thnx -D

Ea81 wagon, when i shift into 4wd and lo it goes in fine....but when i drive around a little bit in lo the lever slips out of lo and grinds in the middle (no power) and when i go from 4wd to 2wd(tried it stopped and moving slightly) it doesnt want to go, so i really push and then it pops in but the car clunks bad going in and you can fell the tranny almost jump......wats wrong with it? can you use simple terms cuz im a noob

  14. just take a sawall( or cutting device or your choice) and cut the square hole about an inch or 2 inches wider in diameter.

  18. its supposed to be easy!!! i have an '84 lifted wagon with a tranny from an '81 and i have tried and tried to fix this damn cable and it wont work...i checked the cable and it isnt brokenso i slipped it back in and it looks a little short ....but its longer than the spare i have.... i cut the little plastic housing on the tranny end so it colud get a little further down there but no luck with that either! what do you think is wrong?
  19. what type of metal are Ea81 front hubs made out of nad are the cast or forged ? redrill to six lug and metals teacher recommends re-enforcing:)
  20. yup you pretty much nailed the dimensions of my wheels.
  21. i dunno but it would be negative i guess and everybody says its a little hard on the bearings....is this gonna be a problem for a daily driver
  22. yeah ima go crazy i think... im looking at these 6 lug rims(using your write up:) ) that have 4 inches of offset....
