will ea81 coupe gas tank bolt up to a hatch?
11.9 gallon hatch tank 14.5 on the other 4wd's might be a good time to do what it takes to get a fuel cell mounted up.

1993 subaru ss
bheinen74 replied to katoi's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI recant some. There is a couple factory ground wires attached to the front by the battery, the strap goes to a bolt on the radiator support above te headlight on the driver side. sometimes the star washer there corrodes and needs cleaned to bare metal on the support. also, there is a couple of grounding wires to the shock tower supports that corrode the same. clean them up to bare metal and good to go, that is the isue. If the owner of a car cannot clean these up with a wire brush, then they do not deserve to own one, and a seller who cannot do this even, has probably failed at other basic maintenance too, like oil changes, tire pressure, etc.

Euro legacy tie rods on US outback?
bheinen74 replied to roxtar's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXif you have bad tie rods, replace them not the rack replacing rack would be same as replacing entire trans when you have a torn axle boot... hello. replace the defective parts not the entire assembly. or, maybe you are one who would pull the engine if you have a exhaust leak?

that nut welded to the back of it, is for hiding a spare key up under the bumper. you can push a bread bag twist tie into the bolt and out the other side and then twist tie your spare key to it.

VERY eventful day in a EA81 hatchie 4wd.
Also replaced the 2 burned out license light bulbs for the rear plate today. outback seats sit too high for more than BRAT (the funtops make more headroom so they can work in the BRAT) Actually, these will have to do until i can find some 95-97 Impreza 2 dr sedan seats in tan and they are very comfy.

rear speaker location
If the magnet too deep, easy way to fix is piece of 1/2 inch or so plywood, cut a ring out and use the ring as a spacer behind the speaker..

What should i buy for my 87gl
I was able to get one today. And got a raincheck for another set when they come back in stock. I will probably sell the SAE portion on Craigs/ebay to cover my expenses.

15" on a EA81 for daily drive no lift size about like stock no rub
I think I will re-drill this to fit the 4 lugs. These are 15x6 steel and I probably will move my snows on the legacy to these rims, those are winterforce 185/65/15 I will do one and see if it will work or not. does anyone see a issue or think may not work?

Sadly my 87 hatchback is dead...
I don't think there will be reason to post again here, but ALL insurance companies are a scam when it comes to payout time on older cars of this era. We pay insurance to have coverage, (it is the law) and then they say the car is worthless. Yet, why do they charge so much for a monthly premium when they have no intention of ever paying a claim on one. scam

Yesterdays little adventure (or, I <3 Colorado)
agree, I lived in Denver CO for 8-9 years and can for sure say most people there suck at snow driving. compared to Colorado drivers in snow, people here in Iowa are much better imo. I could not believe how !-25 would be after a dusting even. Ridiculous, and yeah, living on a side street forget about snow plows. here in my small town Iowa, they plow constantly even with just a little snow.

What should i buy for my 87gl

New project: 88 Hatch
wow nice one

What should i buy for my 87gl
for 44 bucks, that set would be good if you are starting out,,,, although that set is nice, like over half the stuff in a set you will never need on a subaru. You will never need any standard/sae, you only need metric/mm You are much better off sticking to the sizes above, and the vice grips will help in sizes you don't have or need much, like the occasional 8mm, etc. get a good phillips screw driver, smaller one, and a medium one.
-
What should i buy for my 87gl
individual wrenches or sockets, only really need to have size 10mm 12mm 14mm 17mm you can get by for most not needing this size, need for oil drain plug 19mm you can get by for most not needing this it is usually only needed for suspension stuff get "6 point sockets" in 3/8 drive in those sizes, and get box end wrenches in those sizes. ** do not get 12 point** ** do not get 1/4 in drive, too whimpy for tight stuff no need to get an entire set, you don't really need other sizes for subarus for most stuff. If you do not have a good vice grips, add that.
