  1. They ran an extended warranty on the head gaskets and were warrantied to 100,000. Mine just happened to blow at 120,000. About the only fix they tried was the coolant treatment.
  2. Sorry to be the bringers of bad news. We see these types of posts every week. I have been there, I know exactly how frustrating it is. Best thing you can do is fix the head gaskets and drive the car for another 100,000 miles.
  3. Same thing happened to me in January. I had zero running issues, zero coolant and oil mixture, zero over-heating. What happened was the coolant jacket was getting pressurized and causing mine to come out the overflow and spew all over the engine.
  4. Sounds exactly what my RS did when the head gaskets went. Yeah, I jumped straight to the head gaskets.
  5. No more ABS codes since the other night. I am assuming they are linked. The light came on right after I had to get on the brakes really hard but went off when I restarted the car.
  6. Guess I am just as guilty. I have not really promoted her as much as I should. Not found an STi I liked yet anyway, so oh well.
  7. Also came back to my STi exhaust being free and I just had to pay for the flange to be made to fit my cat. Plus I knew I wouldn't be keeping the car long. Wish someone would buy it.
  8. Nipper, I am FULLY aware of the crappy quality of auto parts items. He has already ordered the alternator. Why not be a little more optimistic? My multiple Auto Zone CV axle, brake rotor, thermostat, and clutch cable failures are a true testament to that.
  9. I've heard a ton of 2.5RS's with those headers and they don't sound near as good as your Legacy does. My reason for not putting them on my RS I was worried about it sounding raspy with my stock STi catback. I've got the GR-2's on my Outback as well.
  10. Welcome. I took a business trip to Denver last year and fell in love with the area. I plan to retire to Colorado someday.
  11. I'm loving it. Same color as my old BRAT I sold a couple years ago. You may want to put the camper back on. It kept my BRAT SOOO much cooler in the summer months. Need MOAR pictures.
  12. Gonna try and run a town over and pick one up in the morning. This look good? I have zero experience with master cylinders, have replaced both master and slaves on a clutch before though. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Brake-Master-Cylinder-Cardone_18350084-P_230_R|GRPBRHYAMS_727891357___
  13. Also did the brake booster check. About the 4th pump the brake pedal was very firm and sank a little lower once the car was started. Least that ain't broke.
  14. Just to ask a few last questions for my sake. Doesn't sound like air in the lines or ABS unit? How do I go about changing this thing?
  15. I'm sorry to offend. But you're English confuses the crap out of me.
  16. Tom, you got a video of what it sounds like with the headers?
  17. 95 Outback, 158k. Stops great, no fluid leaking anywhere. If I stand on the brake pedal at startup it will be fine then about 3 seconds later it sink down lower. I did get an ABS light come on earlier where I had an idiot abruptly stop in front of me. The light went off when I restarted the car. Brakes needing bled?
  18. Pretty sure your Legacy is OBD2. Check on the dash below the steering wheel and you should see one of these behind a flap cover.
  19. Connie, I was wondering what happened to you.
