  1. Shannon and his wife Ashley came down for my last day of spring break today and turned into an all day Subaru filled tinker fest. Got quite a bit accomplished. Adjusted the Brat's valves, he brought me a battery hold down hook, chrome gas cap, and a bearing assembly for my Legacy. He is buying the hatchback and the motor out of white Brat. He pulled the dash out of my Brat in about 10 minutes, and the heater core in about 5. Learned a lot and was finally glad to meet him in person instead of on the phone all the time. Here is the pics.

  4. I had the same issue but mine was the cause of a bad mass air flow sensor. You might want to give that a good looking at.

  6. That looks awesome. I am about 5'9" and can really see the desire to do that kind of modification. That back hatch looked to fit perfectly in there. Cool.
  7. Can anything be located on the carb by this picture? The coolant that can be seen on the lower right, that is what I have been battling constantly for the last few months.
  8. I flushed the heater core back in September but I didn't use one of them brass pressure nozzles, it was just the hose stuck to the heater hoses.
  9. GD, if you remember, I just recently replaced the intake gaskets back in October and you haggled with me about the price of gaskets from the dealer. Heater hoses have been replaced, thermostat and gasket has been replaced with OEM. I replaced the stant radiator cap with one off my hatchback that had no issues. Do you know where I can a pic of where at the base of the carb it would be leaking from? When the issue decides to manifest itself, the heat hand will sit at half way and I will have ZERO heat.
  10. Loyale you pretty much hit it right on the head, in this case, any input is good input. I though about putting a little catch jug in where the black vacuum thing is but am unaware if I need it or not with the weber on there. There is two disconnected metal hoses with one running through the firewall. Bratman thinks it has to do with the fuel system and I thought it might have something to do with the vacuum assist brakes. If it doesn't, it would make a good place to put a tub. Kyle
  11. Really considering selling the Brat. I am about ready to get out from under the thing. Ready for something with more power and could trust to drive me to hell and back. Legacy developed an oil issue today on the way back from the test drive. I think it is time in my Subaru addiction to quit accumulating old ones and get one or two good ones.
  12. I just feel that I could have done better. I love a two door car so I am leaning toward a 2.5RS.
  13. Does this sound like a text book heater core issue to the rest of you all?
  14. I just don't know if I am liking it or not. Granted it is a two door, it is still an L model. I am thinking it is about time to sell Brat and probably end up throwing down on a 2.5RS two door.

  16. The other day when driving back from work I noticed the heat hand in my Brat was sitting at the bottom for a very long period of time. Right when I pulled into the apartment I looked down and seen the heat hand just a little bit below red and had zero heat coming out of vents. I drove it up the road today and it took longer to get warmer but I had intermittent heat. My radiator is constantly dripping out coolant and am sick and tired of smelling it and seeing it on the ground. Coolant is topped off, am I filling my radiator the wrong way? I just simply pour coolant in till it can't hold anymore. Overflow bottle is about to go on just to catch all the stupid coolant I am loosing. I am leaning towards a heater core issue because I felt the two pipes today and one was hot while the other was warm. Next good day I get, I am flushing the SOB. Anybody else experienced this?
  17. I am going to test drive it tomorrow and wonder if I need to worry about torque bind on the 5MT? I am taking pics of it when I go down there tomorrow and will post when I get back.
  18. I am gonna call tomorrow and set up a time to go and test drive the car while he is working on Thursday. How hard is it to set up an OEM key less entry? Cars101 said that it was offered.
  19. I understand Gary. If I can sell my truck and give my Granny back the Legacy I will have a pretty good trade off. AWD 5MT w/drum > 2WD 4EAT w/ disc
  20. You guys hit on all the things that I have been thinking about pertaining to the car. The interference engine thing popped into my head first thing when he said what year it was. I remembered Connie owning one and loving the thing. My research on car101 last night noted that it will come with rear drum brakes; when my buddy upgrades his on his 02 WRX, those should bolt right on, correct? I am hoping the RS came in white so I can put an RS hood on it. My 02 WRX wheels would go as with my STi exhaust. Thanks for the input guys, I am really hoping to get this thing. Anyone want to buy a Lowered 97 Tacoma? Kyle
  21. A guy that works as a tech at the Subaru dealer has a '99 2 door, white 5MT Impreza for sale. Timing belt already been done and has 112K. He is asking $4200 and figured I could work him down to just about 4K. Figured I would start here by asking for any tips to look for that is exclusively for this year of Impreza as it does have the EJ22 in it.
  22. I have only seen rally Sweden so far. Since speed quit showing WRC a few years back, I have been forced to download the shows through torrent files.
  23. I got to thinking about this post today when I drove the fiance's 04 Accord to put gas in it. Her's is backwards, no indiactors on console but on dash.
