  1. Delete Car was sold and we have moved on
  2. Working air suspension? Whoa !!! Enjoy that while it lasts. Thanks Bennie. It’s mostly the fresh paint that stands out and grabs folk’s eyes. While doing the engine at storage pretty much outside my unit much of the time any folks that drove by couldn’t help but either just about stop and look or at least rubberneck as they drove by. That goes into my 79 4wd wagon. I’ll bump up a story in Historic to further preview what I hope is a glorious event. But back to the the 90-94 Legs I’m just in its web right now. I’m not sure when I’ll get out. Lol

  5. Hoping I can once again post some pics here. I think you’ll like seeing my 94 Legacy wagon accepting an EA71 AND the engine crane too. BCD76A96-F200-48D9-A8A4-8214E54020C7 testing…..
  6. Yeah man! Doing about the same with a 79 and using a 78. Looking good! Cheers!
  7. Quick search and it looks like plenty of them in PA. I just used 12345 for the zip code in their search.
  8. That’s not the touring wagon is it? If that wagon has the raised roof it’s going to be tricky but I did it 25 years ago or so. Touring wagons were only 1500 in the USA and there’s Three styles of rear hatch glass applications for just those 1500 units.
  9. My mistake with my thumbs. hope this works now. https://www.car-part.com/mobile/index.htm
  10. Pardon my guesswork and general ignorance on this matter , but are these cars in any way similar to the old school where there were/are relays under the carpet/seat along the inner sill ? I know those old schoolers we’d have corroded connections and failures deluxe.
  11. Northern NY for snow plowing. It’s the last nice quiet place that hasn’t been ruined or tainted by New Yorkers here in the northeast. I know that reads funny - think Yogi Berra. Sorry to divert. Enjoy !
  12. And I don’t think they are the same. I’m sure the Legacy bolt boots are different. Maybe the 1400,1600,and EA81 will be the same or similar.
  13. Sometimes called bolt boots. You may get lucky if you search for the gaskets and scroll until you find that seller that has the boots included. I know you don’t need more gaskets but finding the boots by themselves will be tough. There’s a few guys who have some NOS 80’s parts. Hopefully you cross paths.
  14. “ CVT is junk, CANBUS is junk. 10 years old - time to trade up or trade back to something that's not a rolling plastic computer. Is your phone 10 years old? Is your TV 10 years old? Exactly.....” GD Rick, I want to thank for first for the assistance you offer when you somehow manage to spare time for the nice folks here, but also for putting out there straight for folks. I’ve saved this quote of yours to clue in folks I know driving these newer Subarus. We do have a 2006 and as I know it that’s fly by wire and that’s where guys like me turn yellow. My cars: 79, 94, 2003, 2003, 2006 Cheers!
  15. Yeah I had the x car go topper way back and then a second one came along after I’d finally given the first one away and missed it badly. Love these wagons. I’m letting mine kind of go to the wind with the body but it’s holding strong. I’m just not spending on the body. Love it so much I got the lifetime alignment at the tire shop because regardless of aesthetics I know it’ll keep rolling. That whole “2.2 Magic” thing took a while to hit me but once it did I’m simply sold for life. I think I had it in my profile or somewhere but it’s basically 70’s for fun and 2.2 for daily. Need nothing else really. Enjoy !!
  16. Oh man now I’m jealous. Meet you in the Barrens.
  17. Please do post back any results. As you mentioned I’m also starting to see rear axles that need attention. And in 40 or so years of running Subarus I also have never had a rear axle issue.
  18. You’re out west so you’ll score. If you were out east I’d say try F&S at their Roxbury CT location. They also have a shop in Waterbury where they are Subaru specialists and longtime dedicated to the brand. A couple of those guys have Brats and are somewhat vintage enthusiasts. Getting tougher on this coast. But these folks I’m talking about are probably the last ones around the northeast that they may have what you need for any Subaru from the early 70’s on. If you can’t score I’d give them a call.
  19. Ok then let’s see your pulleys and alignment please. Tough to tell from your post but my first thought is somehow the tension is loose. Again, I’m not there and can’t see from here. There are plenty of hoarders somewhat. Catching them in a good mood at the right time is another story. Good luck.
  20. Or try eBay and input your vehicle in the search and add belt or air conditioning etc

  22. Sorry about your experience. Hurts when people lie and waste your time and gas etc. And they don’t sweat a drop. Heartless machines. I will warn my son who is local and he will let his circle of car buddies know too. Thanks ! Just be aware it’s total flakeville now. The California shop/service mentality has spread coast to coast. I’d say northeast not as bad but they’re here and you’ve gotta get things in writing. Good luck with your next Subaru wherever it comes from.
