New Brat Owner, Need info
I’m not sure you could get the four spoke steering wheel in the 77/78 Brat or 4WD wagon. My catalogs are at storage now. Saw your pics in the other post. Looks like a nice base and you have the air deflector.

Brat brake calipers
Not far from you in Scranton or thereabouts is Carl Porter. He’s like I was in that he’s gathering NOS and mostly has 80’s parts. Find him easier on FB in the Subaru groups like “4x140 or GTFO” , USMB , And Vintage Subaru Parts etc , and another one too - brain farting ... I think he’s here too but not too often.

New Brat Owner, Need info
So just thinking that my 78 4WD wagon was the same animal as a Brat and that did NOT have a tach. So maybe 78 they didn’t have them other than for the Coupe or Hardtop. Another one of those things that the parts catalogs make clear. Ancient Chinese proverb: no memory is as clear as faded ink. Although I have owned way too many 1970’s Subarus and Brats in general it’s been a while.

New Brat Owner, Need info
Hi Warren, a 78 will have quad lights. It’s just blessed that way. In 79 and later you needed the GL trim for the quad lights , am/fm , four spoked steering wheel , and maybe a couple other things I’m not thinking of. But those are the basics. Yes that’s an early SnugTop , keep it well. Trying to locate a shell-to-body gasket is tough but people have made do. If you don’t have a key you can likely get one at a good hardware store. Some will argue but the fact is the Brat started here as a late 1977. Yours might be one. Check the tag for mfg date. Otherwise it’s a 78 from your description. Kind of surprised at the lack of a tach. If you can locate an old parts manual/ catalog it’ll show you all sorts of great info. Check around online. Or search eBay if you want a physical copy. People have gotten pretty stupid with pricing I have to warn you. As I find time I’ll bring a parts catalog home and help you out. But I’m not the only person with them. They printed plenty of copies. As for pics , I’m all used up and need to clear some out. Otherwise I’d post some pics of pages for you. One guy suggested something that works for me. You email yourself the pic you want to post and when you go to send it’ll ask you which size you want to send. Select the smallest or next size up. Just review the size requirements and keep under them. When you open your email just save it. Then you can add that smaller copy here really easily. Enjoy ! Paul

Considering this: https://newhaven.craigslist.org/pts/d/north-haven-parting-running-2005-subaru/7385615768.html Have 124k automatic from a 2000 Legacy GT wagon. Thanks Not the best time for me to take on a project but this one seems worth considering.

EA81 part cat. help...Moosens?
6211 08170 for the front for the control arm pivot. 7210 47000 for the rear INNER Outer has two part numbers 7210 47070 and 7210 58060 the latter appears to be for the models the former does not cover. You copy that ? So the latter applies to Brat and wagons as best as I can tell.

Center console won’t close 94 Legacy
moosens replied to moosens's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes !!!! Somehow I just put a little brute force and ignorance into it. It was the drivers side that was hung up. Not sure how or what caused it but I wiggled and jiggled and after I pulled my pants back up it came loose ! LOL And right elbow says thanks as does the dog. She loves to ride sitting on that pad rubbing up against me. Thanks for the support ! Dad is doing ok , should be in the hospital another day as they check him over.

What holds the fake vent grill on?
Last time I tried to post a FB link it asked you to sign in. It’s just two screws per side. I had thought for sure that there was also a clip or two but according to the drawing and parts list it’s just two screws. FB is not for me but I use it to my advantage and stay the F away from the majority of that BS. Attention seekers galore. Pity seekers too, and more unhealthy comments from the crumbs of society. Sorry but that’s my opinion. If you dare to join FB it’s there in the USMB group. https://m.facebook.com/groups/UltimateSubaruMessageBoard/permalink/4492587204137074/?m_entstream_source=group&ref=bookmarks

20k Mile EA82 - weird carb issue
So that’s the end of the carb run. Mid 1987 production. How’s the accelerator pump look ? Front of carb with rubber boot. The new fuel eats those up depending on what you gas up with. Just a thought. May not be related but generally check the carb over because the newer fuels are like mice on cheese to your rubber boot and gaskets and seals. Ok that’s an exaggeration but you know what I mean. Read about it on vintage machine sites. Also check your distributor for play. And age has a way of doing in the intake manifold gaskets. But you’d see a mist out the exhaust if that were the case. Seems like you found a “pull along”. Was it an RV tug-around ? Or an older lady car ? We also once had a 26k car. Old lady car. Have fun , enjoy !

moosens replied to moosens's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXRight on ! So my dad (nearly 93) had issues today and I had to take him to the hospital and never got myself looked at. As mentioned , live for another day !

What holds the fake vent grill on?
Ok I have the Brat parts manual here. Pretty sure I’ve used up my picture/data allotment but will attempt a pics later. It shows 4 screws with 4 screw grommets as they are called. No other clips shown so pardon my earlier post. Screws p/n 0453 04205 Grommet p/n 7910 33030 and they call that sucker an Air Vent Grill. Enjoy !

Center console won’t close 94 Legacy
moosens replied to moosens's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks all. It appears the right side link is what’s stuck. And flashing a light through that slit doesn’t show me anything blocking it’s path. But the hinge feels free enough , same for the left side link. Yeah I’m that typical guy about pain. Work through it mentality. BrusBro has offered his eyes and hands as well to assist. Might be seeing our man in a while. We’ll see if we can synch up.

Center console won’t close 94 Legacy
moosens replied to moosens's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks , yeah it seems like I’m ok but I did get that initial shock straight up and down the spine. Feeling some tightness in the lower back and abdomen. Just what I don’t need right now. Or anytime. Just the stupid process now of X-rays , therapy , blah blah blah Have the minimum insurance so I’ll have to go after the other party directly. So that means an attorney. Contingency works well enough but just dealing with more people , not big on my list. And you have to go through the Physical Therapy game. But getting better is priority. Just know I’ll be screwed on the car somehow. Old days I had made out well most of the time. Now , not so sure how it’s going to work out.
