Anyone have a cat-back exhaust on their Outback? I was thinking...I am sure i'm going to need a new exhaust system, or at least some work on it...and I was thinking about getting one. Anyone have any info/places that sell them? Would one for a 2002 2.5l OBW work on a 96 2.2l?

Get an SVX with a 5 speed tans. conversion.

Yeah...my mom dug them out for when I started waxing my cars...she's used them before and washes them after she is done....so they are soft and lint free

It prob. just lubercates the engine. Don't waste your money.

Weeellll... When I used the buffer thing with the soft shameoi cloth on the Legacy it seemed to not leave swirl marks. I prefer using soft flannel/baby diapers when I wax the OBW...it seems to go a lot faster than the buffer...but the buffer seemed to leave a nicer shine. I might be wrong and the buffer might mess up paint...but my experience has been on cars with some scratchs and dings and I just wanted to get the wax job done, but did not notice any more scratches when I was done.

Check out Bridgestone Weatherforce tires. I have them on my car and they are good. 65,000 mile rating on them. They have them at Sears. Good traction on wet roads. I don't know about snow yet, havnt driven in it yet with them.

A buffer would be fine. Don't use like steel wool on it..heh. But make sure it has a nice and soft buffing thing on the buffer (like flannal or the soft baby diper kind) That shouldn't harm your paint.

My MAF sensor went when I was messing with an open air intake. I bought one on eBay for $10 and one at a junkyard for $75. After you install the MAF sensor, unhook the negitive battery cable for 30 min, then hook it back up. Let the car idle for 5 min.

Yeah...you can beat them, and they still keep on going. I drove my Legacy with a leaking cam seal for like 1,000 miles (paid more for oil that leaked out in that time than it costed to get fixed) According to Edmunds.com they range in HP between 130 (1990) and 138 (1998) I would go by what some actual owners say, and that small change and HP could be due to new intake changes, mufflers, etc. They are decently quick. I've had my Legacy to a bit over 115MPH and my Outback to about 110MPH. Not bad for a 4 cyl. with AWD.

Make sure you get a real one...heh. I tried the 'spray as you dry' stuff and it does not work well at all. I use normal ole' Turtle Wax in the little tub. It is decent and cheap. I want to try some of the Meguiars wax...it seems like it'd work well, but its double the cost of Turtle Wax.

My AC is decent for a 96...but it kills my gas mileage and when I go up a hill I have toturn it off because the car lags. Happens in my Outback and Legacy. Its cold...but I wish it was colder. Maybe I need it recharged or something.

$1700 isn't bad...because a timing belt job and all that is pretty steep. Where did you find this deal from? I'm interested.

Wheel pulling to one side...vibration at speeds above like 45 - 55 MPH. An alignment is only like $40 - $50. Also, are your tires wearing unevenly? That was a major thing that my Legacy did when it was all out of alignment.

You can do minor things like a new intake and exhast...little bit more power...probably not much difference. If you really want performance than you have to do things to the engine. Turbos and whatnot would be the most common engine mod.

On my 95 Legacy and 96 OBW (OBD II) the ECU resets when you unhook the neg. battery cable for an half hour.

Does the factory unit have a 1/8 jack or anything or some sort of an aux. setting?

They have aftermarket headunits with the XM capability built in...that'd be the easyest and would look the neatest.

Nice user name...heh. The turbo 4 cyl. might be faster and lighter...I don't really know...but this is how I would deside: 1. Gas mileage - what does each get? 2. Look up reviews and see what kind of common repairs are needed and how much. They are new model likes...so there might not be anything on them. 3. How much each of them cost. 4. How comforable they are to ride in.

My Legacy has 215,000 miles. All original...except coolent temp sensor, tires, clutch, brakes, battery, filters, and thats about it. It does not get driven as much anymore...so it won't be getting much more mileage anytime soon. Between April 2003 and April 2004 it was driven about 28,000 miles.

Try Auto Zone or something and just get a basic mirror for the time being...or check out a local junkyard for a Subaru mirror.

Well, the owner of the car is responsible for how it gets towed. The prev. owner should have been aware that you have to pull a fuse and whatnot, and should just have gotten a flat bed to be safe. The towing company just moves the car.
