We used to have a lot of threads about pinning here. Try to search. Unfortunately that is how EA82 works, Subaru even have a TSB on pinning. Keep your engine well tuned. Make sure your PCV valve is clean. Check out vacuum hoses. That is what will lower your pinning. I do have occasional pinning sometime. The better the gas the more pinning I get. Good luck, Sam

On my 92 Loyale the water pump is driven by the timing belt. One of the possible leaks is a rubber elbow. You can get access to it if you remove the AC compressor. Good luck, Sam

Depending on engine load the ECU will cut off the AC use. At least that what my 2010 Forester owner manual say. Good luck, Sam

Since both 2 and 4 cylinders are affected it points out to a bad coil. Try to compare the spark with the cylinders 1 and 3. Good luck, Sam

Mine was doing the same thing. It was a poor contact on the alternator control wire. Try to wiggle it and attempt to start it again. Good luck, Sam

I have rebuilt an EA82 steering pump. The big problem was the copper gasket that I had to substitute with the regular one. I am not sure if EJ series has the same pump though. Good luck, Sam

She asked you about the shops that can do the brakes and not about the procedures. Leitah. Any shop can do it. Make sure you see the pads and rotors yourself since all shops will be happy to charge you for replacing parts, even if there is no need to do it. Good luck, Sam

The one I bought from roach auto came without a radiator cap. The cap from the old radiator did not fit and I had to look for a new cap in the automotive stores for a new one. Took me awhile to find the new cap because you need to match not only the physical dimensions but also the correct pressure. There is a reason why roach auto's radiators are not expensive. Plus their data base is very inaccurate. So buying from them is hit or miss. They will also charge you for return shipping. Good luck, Sam

On my 2010 Forester manual recommends changing spark plugs every 30,000 miles. With your 99000 when was the last time the plugs were changed? Sam

I have two fans on my 92 Loyale. If you have the same set up the passenger side fan suppose to come on when you use AC. Sam

I have been experimenting with my 2010 Forester a lot and I came up to an ideal driving conditions (at least for my car). The highest speed on the highway must be 65 mph. This is critical to get a good mpg. I get 30+ miles per gallon using this tactic even with my wife in the passenger seat (more wait). The highest fuel consumption is in a stop-and-go traffic. 20 miles per gallon is sometimes considered to be a very good number. Sam
