  1. I've had that happen many times myself. I'll send you pics or a list of what is available when I am done. I had no idea there was anyone else in the area off of the board! Have you been to the "you pull" JY's in Albuquerque? There are always a few soobs there.
  2. That was my mistake, the decal says "star edition" and is 46/50. I'll get pics as soon as I can, I'll snap some tomorrow when I go to set up the pic up time. I'll get some of the engine and interior too, just in case there is any difference in these "50" 3-door coupes as compared to others. Only 50? It would make sense if it were a dealer in the 4 corners area, but why the "H style" wheels are different than most others I don't know.
  3. I'm meeting the guy on Monday the 14th to make arrangements to pick this soob up on Thurs 17th. It's at his business so I have to let him know when I am bringing the trailer-the lot is fenced and locked. I made a quick view of the whole thing when I agreed to buy it. The body is not rusted-only the front slight front end damage. The back seat was the worst, but the interior is otherwise great-for the 80's soobs. I think the back cargo light was there, and yes, if anyone wants to draw a schematic of the areas they need me to apply a sawzall to I'd be happy to do so. I'll take pics of the whole thing, figure out what I need off it and post what is left up here over the weekend.
  4. that's exactly what mine looks like-in these pics. Thanks guys I was curious. I'll take what I need and part out the rest on here:banana:
  5. Welcome, great place for all your needs soob related. The members are always helpful and there is no end to the info here
  6. I bought a wrecked 87 three door coupe today for the parts. Some front end damage, possible frame damage, front windshield got cracked (and I needed that too!), the interior is decent, engine good, doors and rockers are great... there is a decal that says "starfire 46/50". Anyone know what this means? Was this a special edition soob? I see nothing in the 87 brochure section. If so, would it be better to fix this soob instead of using it for parts?
  7. This is a great post. keep the pics coming and updates! It encourages me to experiment with things and buy this hatch that is for sale locally!
  8. Welcome! You'll find so much info and help here it will blow your mind. A great place to find used soobs and parts as well as manufacturers of new stuff too!
  9. I've seen a few Red Brats like that for sale, but none have been as nice as that! I would definitely keep that one stock!
  10. Welcome! You're right, everyone on here is great...even if you take a break periodically, as I do...everyone always helps out with whatever they can whenever you return!
  11. NICE! How soon before they are for sale in the states? did any of the board members ever go together on a package deal to help with shipping?
  12. Sorry everyone, I had to work an extra shift and did not get to go to the JY. I am off of work today and am heading to Harbor Freight first, then to the U Pull U Pay. I am taking the camera, going to snap pics like mad...I'll post here later. Also going to the other JY's here...there are at least 12 I counted on one road (I Love NM for that!) and ask about Pugs, brats, coupes, XT6....well, you get the pic.... I think I need to stay in NM for awhile longer...maybe I should extend my contract with work another 3 months and get a storage unit!:headbang:
  13. Sorry guys, Shane here....I had to work extra the last few days...It's jan 3rd and I am heading to harbor freight first...then off to the U Pull JY....I am going to take the camera and snap photos of the 77 for you all...I'll post them here
  14. That's impressive! I like the exhaust and I've been wanting a strut bar for my brat, and I thought fabricating one was the only way to go...nice job. If I don't stop procrastinating, my brat wil look like the....wait what am I saying? it is already rusted out! Argh! Time to get to welding soon!
  15. Mike, I got the PM...I am going tomorrow morning, I'll see if I can find the bumper, and other things you need. Shane
  16. Now that is a nice Brat! That's the look I am wanting to ultimately accomplish with mine! Are those the Pug alloy wheels? What size swampers are those?
  17. I will be going back on jan 1st and again on jan 3rd...I'll take the camera and get photos of body, interior, engine, everything on the car and post it here for you guys to see.
  18. HaHa! All in good fun! Rest assured I will get picks, so I'll lay off the detail until I have visuals to go with it.
  19. I found a 77 wagon here at the U Pull Yard in NM. Great shape for that year...check out the Meet/Greet section for my post about parts transport for anyone who needs it. The engine and tranny are intact. If no one wants it....I may pull it myself in case I find a 70's soob later...
  20. Went by the U Pull It Yard this am when I got off of work. I'll only be here in NM for about 2-3 more weeks then I will be heading home to KY. I am willing to do a parts transport along the way-whatever I can fit in the back of my Baja besides my stuff. First come, first served. I'd keep the receipts and charge what the part cost plus we could work out some kind of trade on the labor-parts, etc... :banana:First item was a 1977 four door wagon...1600...with the engine and tranny intact. Back seat is good...back passenger door is dented-other doors decent with minor rust. Hatch was good. One 1980 hatch. Color code 36 I believe. Yellowish color. I remember the passenger door was good, hatch good with glass, rear side windows good. I took the 3rd eye. One 1986 white hatch. Took third eye. Taking passenger side door for Brat. Driver door with rust along bottom and one continuous hole. Various L Series wagons and a few sedans. There is one sedan 86 or 89 turbo. Blue. I got the disk brakes. One turbo wagon an 86 or 89. I got the disk brakes. Great metallic green color. Minor rust. Some outbacks, Imprezzas, as well. Several Loyales... I did not have my camera but will be taking it back with me later in the week so I could snap photos for those who want them. All soobs are in various conditions...bodies are in general good due to the NM climate. I say that in relation to what I am used to since I am from KY. Glass is intact on some, majority seem to have had some NIMRODS go around and throw rims and various other enginge parts through the glass-many of the interiors would be great if it wasn't for that... Post your requests or PM me. I'll do what I can...basically anywhere from NM to KY along I40 will be my route. I can meet to drop off or once I get back to KY would be able to meet within reason for surrounding states. Oh and if any of you have access to a machine shop that can do a 6 lug conversion we could talk a trade....
  21. Gee, like that is not obvious...and I will be putting ones up-just felt like posting until I get the pics up. Like I said, pics are coming...so if you want to see them, you'll have to wait. Kind of difficult when the Brats are several states away. The eyes I just snagged today and had not slept for almost 24 hours so pics of those where not on my priority list.
  22. Went to the U Pull It yard this am after I got off of work....spent 4 hours looking over the yard. No Peugots, but many, many soobs. I scored 2 of the 3rd Eyes with grills, one of them has the shutter shattered but the other is totally intact. These will be going on my 85 and 86 brats. Also snagged a round metalic gas cap door and hardware off of an 86 hatch. Look for my post in the Meet and Greet about parts transport from NM to Ky later this month....
  23. Thanks, I thought hatch doors were the only ones that fit but wasn't certain.
