Idling problems...EA82T, '87 RX
IMHO it's a bad fuel filter or fuel, or air filter could also be timing :wtf:
-
gotta gremlin
reminds me of 2 different vehicles and the same problem! the rx would have intermittent power, but only after I opened and closed the door, turns out it was a bad connection with a fuse link, iirc, the green one opposite end of the black one the brat, dead unless I run a wire from the alternator B+ terminal to the battery, which also has the car white wire? if it will start, but not charge, the 2 terminal connector on the alt may be disconected if it will show 18+, you are running from the alt

? lift or swap for RX rear
I need more clearance for the rear tires 195/60 R15 to fit without interference when loaded and I hit bumps, accelerate, or corner I only have about 1.5" from top of tire to bottom of wheel arch The question is should I lift it or swap on the rear adjustables form the '85 wagon  lift costs money, but the adjustables I have. The real reason for the car is going through the snow

what's better: air filter paper or plastic?
with one of my crazy ideas I got to thinking would a ricer/ k/n clamped on to tubing be good, or would a paper cone clamped on to the same tubing be better? gaols: easily serviced -- must withstand dirt roads and fieldwork without getting too dirty allow sufficient airflow -- no choke boxes

push button start
it would be extremely easy to do! remove the 4wd switch and substitute a momentary contact switch, the old one is continuous -- whch would cause problems reroute the wires for the start function from the ignition switch to the new 4wd switch

best way to synchronize my locks?
DON't!. embrace the opportunity! it is nice to have one key for the ignition and one key for all other locks for many reasons! 1. lock the car with the engine running -- mostly for diesels 2. valet the rest let your imagination run
