8,500 is max at this speed it really sounds good 5,500 is stock 3,000 is power -
to access the fan to remove the fan you must remove the shelf - cover assembly, the big duct, and the air box. it also helps if you remove the glovebox BTDT great time to clean the system

with that kind of consumption, start by tightening the oil pan then replace the gaskets in the valve covers and oil pan if needed

what filter are you using? what engine? is the filter housing damaged? try 2870A it's the fram # that works for purolator made Advance Auto and Quakerstate filters DO NOT USE FRAM http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/oil_filter_study/ -

I use a torque wrench EVERY time I install a lugnut 75-100 ftlbs I once lost a nut on a H alloy, put a pug nut on, all was good -

disconnect completely the clutch cable from the clutch release fork then see what happens -
looks like a snow king version of a ea82 the jsuty snow king is cool!

it's what happens when the gear lube is cold it acts to bind together the moving parts try running a thinner gear lube 75W80?? -
if it's above 32F, 0C, once should do, if it's colder, 2 or more see what works for you tap LIGHTLY, it does NOT take much

the no choke cold idle is about 700rpm the choke is a multi step system floor once or twice depending on temp to set choke start allow to run smooth, about 2,000 rpm gently tap gas pedal should be about 1,000 to 1,500 rpm after running smooth to about 2,000 rpm, accelerate to 3,000 rpm let go and it should idle 700-1,000 rpm works like a charm!
