  4. you may have blown a fusible link it's a black rectangle box near the battery, pop the cover off, remove each one and check for continuity best place for new ones is the junk yard good luck sparky to see if the starter is crap run a hot wire to the male connector, the small one to hotwire the igniton, run a wire from battery + to coil +

  11. I did order a svx one the "too lasy to check the book" issue happens most of the time I just buy the oil drain plug gaskets from them, they keep them behind the counter in a box of 1,000? computer cross reference? http://www.defa.com/finn_bil.php3?lang=&ndid=&heater=240 should do the trick
  12. I was just thinking the ea81 being timing gear, as in the brat it seems to not want to hold on compression when the rear is pointed downhill, would there be the possibility of it running in reverse rotation? a diesel engine will run in reverse rotation if you slam into sometning, dock, while in reverse
  13. please look for a block heater and cost the "MORONS" at ramsey subaur in des moines 18006696400 weren't very helpful when I asked them for one for an 83 brat, so the next day I called them for one for a svx, and the called me back saying $43 any "GOOD" parts person should know they use the same thing
