  1. This would be a board members ride. Needs a little more to be legal to drive, but pretty much ready to go. Check out the clearance under the diff. We're trying to figure out the perrfect sticker to offset the one that's on there rather than taking it off. "Heston for Pres." "I kill hippies" (Seen 'em, they exist)
  2. Me and that hammer are old friends. Here're a shot without plywood. I managed to cover the back half before I cut out.
  3. No offense taken at all. Hope we can help, but it's nice when folks can kinda help themselves by searching sometimes.
  4. Dude. What would you expect your impreza to handle like if you lift it and put truck tires on it? BF Goodrich ATs don't come in a 195/60/15. They come in tall sizes. Why would it wander all over the road because you put Forester struts and shocks on it? Are your ball joints bad or something? Did you know that the forester is built on the impreza chassis? Would it be more cost effective to put a body lift on it? Have you looked into body lifts for the impreza? Do you have any idea what either costs? Have you made any calls to a parts dealer, new or used, to look into the price of struts and shocks? Do you do any of your own research or is this forum just "ask Jeeves" to you? Not trying to be harsh, but come on.
  5. Are secrets still allowed here? lol It'll rear its head at the next RallyX. I be the co-pilot!!!
  6. I'd say it went pretty good.

Kumho 27/8.50/14 on an impreza OBS. They barely rub on the rear when going thru a big dip in the road. The fronts rub a little on the plastic mud guard when in reverse. (new wheel bearings on the driver's side might fix that) Without a tranasfer case, your tranny will love you long time for not choosing bigger tires than 27s. And to anybody who might think it looks funny to have a tall lift and not so big tires. . . check this out. How about a 12 inch lift and 13's?
  8. I don't know that they make springs for an impreza. I think they tend to put forester or outback struts on the imprezas. I think the Scorpion springs would be taller than the OB springs, but I think too tall. No kinda down travel and a super stiff ride.
  9. Sorry, I've been looking at this one with envy for years. . .
  10. That's it. No, the cv's won't suffer. Imps also have a camber adjustment at all 4 corners.
  11. Looks cool, but I wonder how hard that is on the wheel bearings. . .
  12. Yes, you'll probably have more ground clearance than a stock forester.
  13. If Ann can watch the boy, I can make it for a while. Got my own hammer even. lol You know I'm a roofer by trade, right?
  14. Don't paint it pink Austin. . . Remember, subtle is good. lol

I'll take one too. SHould you get a line, count me in.
  16. Corky, I'll help if I can, but I have a pretty crazy day. . . I'll call you in a bit. EZ

Usually, the worst ruggin happens on the inner wall. Look for the shiny spot, beat it back. I successfully ran the same tires you have on an unlifted hatch. No rubbing, no damage to the doors.
  18. I'd say look for the shiny spot where it might be rubbing. Beat it back a little, paint over it and wait to see if it gets shiny again. Make sure everyting is tight back there. Hit moving parts with a little bit of spray lubricant.
  19. Happy B-day to you too then Adam. Your Brat was one of the first I ever saw offroad. Made me wish my wife and I both had Brats like you and the Missus. Moosey, you know you still top the list of board members I wanna meet and shake hands with. Happy 4/20 to you guys too, funny to see some of you coming out of the closet. lol Celebrated it with the U Dub and some Full Sail Pale. It don't get better than that. And you know it.
  20. "beer" mugs and cars do not mix.
  21. 5 years today mofos!!! (Don't hate the bannana Skip) lol Ya either like me, or hate me, but I'm still here. I've learned A LOT from this board, and hopefully I've contributed a little too. Met some pretty awesome folks, a few who I consider close friends. Subaru all the way man!
  22. You know how I feel G. Choose the one you choose, give 'em the choice as to whether they wanna buy it or not. I'll take 2, ZAP and MRS. ZAP.
  23. I gotta argue with ya Shawn. The difference after going thru a deep mudhole with and without that little cover is bigtime! As in, the end of the throw out bearing or not. I've never seen one shrink and fall in. (not that that means that it never happened before) For a street mobile, don't worry. For an offorader, don't leave home without it.
  24. What war? A beer drinking contest or something? lol You guys only have about 60 soldiers. (please forgive the hijack singletrack, I can't resist)
  25. I used to be partners on one of the fastest RXs on the West Coast. Sounded pretty baddass too. But, ya know what? Now that I'm spoiled by my imprezas, you'll NEVER see me owning one of those old things again. I gotta say, now that I have my OBS a little lifted, I don't miss any of my lifted ea81s, even a little bit. Well, sometimes I miss Bob. . . Not sure what kind of kick rump roast Auto X car an OB would make, they're a little heavy, but I know that they can be tricked out pretty nicely. You've seen the one that made the cover of Subie Sport Mag? I say keep you current Auto Xer, I've seen your results, you do fine with it. Plus it's sweet to beat up new gens with an "old" RX. Use the OB for a daily driver, pimp it out some, keep the RX for racing and the occasional rip across town.
