in my impreza i too suffer from the shifter rocking back and forth when i let off gas or give it gas....i kinda thought twice about it...but didnt know where to start the diagnosis for me its the worst in 3rd gear...should i check things like engine mounts like u said? im sure with high miles they arent good anymore...srry for the minor hyjack but its on the topic
-
when we first bought the 93 impreza....the brakes would shudder real bad to where it was be very noisey and annoying it would feel like there were about to brake....so i figured it had something to do with the rotors being warped or uneven wear or something regards to the brake lining....so i went ahead and changed the brake pads and rotor and the annoying pulse and noise was gone....however just today i drove the car after a long time b/c the old lady drives it mostly and i noticed that the pulse is coming back not as aggresive but its there... what should i do? bleed the brakes? change the calipers? im prolly going to go get the rotors resurfaced to see if that smoothes things out...but still how do i avoid this thumping b/s thanks -sean

after that i think i may take some videos....however it'll be crazy bouncy the terrain around here are either oversized potholes filled with water....or giant mudd holes that eat trucks i wish i had something soft like your terrain to whip around in...instead of just hurting my car from giant potholes made from coal and slate

thank you that most definately backed me up on my decision to go with the already off rs parts......haha theres alot of things that goes on at harry's that they dont know about
-
how much did u end up spending at harry's? i thinking about buying all the stuff im going to need from an rs off a guy for 150 bucks... however if i could find the stuff for cheaper at say harry's or joe's im gonna go cheap
-
my problem was all i could find in pa that had the 2.2 awd 5-speed were wagons 6,000 is worth it...if you've been searching forever for that exact car with only them kind of miles....however if your just looking for a fun subaru...with reliability aside for one second you could find an rs for that price...not saying i would rather have an rs over my car but from a different viewpoint
-
thats too much.....however that would be a great car to nag...too bad u found it at a dealership and not at some old lady's yardsale i'd move on....it's gonna take awhile but you'll find what your looking for...took me six months untill i found my 96 2.2 awd 5-speed L 193k for only 800 bucks....car runs like a champ got it from the orignial owner who was a woman and baby'd it honestly it was a gift from god or whoever else you would like to worship these days they put it in the newspaper as a type-o saying it was a 2.5 (so i figured bad head gasket)they were unaware of the engine size at the time....so for a whole week i ignored the add....but then i called back and found out it was a 2.2 but someone was coming to look at it haha etc. etc. its a long story n i could go on forever lets just say after i talked with the nice couple....i left work with a 1000 bucks that i borrowed from my boss and drove 1 1/2 hours away the next day.

timingbelt and all the nonsense that goes with that....i had a 93 and broke down due to one of the timing pulleys/gears otherwise haggle away..when u think about it 500 dollars and u get a whole car/good investment...but in order to make it work ur talking more money...maybe its best just to save a little more and find something better for a little more.... what does the kid seem like? dumping the clutch has 5000 rpm's at every red light kinda kid? or just a 195k mile clutch kinda kid? haha i would buy it..good learning experience for ur kid and its an awd subaru i see ppl spending 500 dollars on used go karts. you could part the car out and prolly make your money back
-
what kind of car did u get your parts from subeman? i think i may tackle this too..once im done with classes.. and should it affect the alignment at all? i just got my car aligned for my wrx rims....and dont feel like shelling out another 50 bucks (p.s. i talked to my buddy and hes not sure yet about the car..he just bought a new exhaust system for his cougar so i think hes pretty hung up on that yet..usually whenever i take him offroading he changes his mind)

when i stuck the other end of the hose in the bottle of seafoam ...the engine just died...although if i woulda kept on the idle at the time it prolly woulda helped...it was sort of a slip in so no one was controlling the idle....i hope someone will learn from these posts before they use seafoam....its the common sense things that'll getcha....
-
i must be an idiot but i bought another can of sea foam...and went at it again instead using the pcv hose and i got no suction.....i even held the hose upward and poured seafoam into it still nothing it all just came out and made a mess...i had a buddy f*** with the throttle too to try and suck it in...but no luck so i just P'd off and used the brake booster hose again and kept the throttle high since i had help this time... what was that info on it only getting one cylinder? i dont understand thanks for all the help...but im just frustrated and gonna leave it alone...i even forgot to let it sit for awhile before driving it as soon as i stalled the engine...i hopped in the seat and smoked the sh*t outta it i couldnt believe that i forgot....hahah what a time
-
and didnt feel a difference? maybe i didnt suck enough in the intake....i also used the spray bottle shi* and cleaned out all the black garbage out of the throttle body... when i was driving it around smoking it felt like it was running alot better...but once the smoke went away so did the difference haha maybe i'll try again some other time and try to suck in more before it dies...i used the brake booster hose and as soon as i pulled it off the engine began to idle really rough so next time it'll be pcv valve
-
good stuff...i remember see'n someone run the exhaust right out of the hood like a smokestack haha

i kno theres a guy selling a sedan spoiler over on nasioc.....but if ur really set on the big wrx looks......think about rs looks instead...not as flashy as wrx...but not as plain as the stock impreza....im probably going to go that route this summer...considering i find parts i need p.s changing the rims on ur car will be a big bonus...my car looks way more bad a** with my wrx rims on it...
