  1. i`m liking that 85-86 brown color too:grin: hell, i`ve had 4 brats that color:lol:
  2. hey sorry for not getting back to you on the 82 brat. i kinda just convinced myself to keep her. are you picking up the one in NJ or? take care, Jon
  3. i had my brat up to 95 and it was still rolling up slowly. thats with a 4sp ea81, so a 5sp ea82 should be good for around 110 once you get rollin
  4. been there done that, exept i did it with a civic. had to get 4 guys to lift the nose of the car and move it back cause civics are so damn low.
  5. lookin good Shawn! i know what you mean about rust free brats. i have 3 now, 2 of which are rust free, 1 VERY rusty from NY. i now know of about 3 sitting in the area as well, and one that runs around still. i spoke to the owner of that one on a few occasions. i`d really like to see yours in real life, we'll have to have a brat meet sometime. more pics!
  6. yeah, most times you can start multiple subarus with one key. when i bought my 82 brat, i already knew how it ran before the owner even got home from work:rolleyes:
  7. hey spark nice avatar:headbang: Connie, if i have a brat on the road by then, i`d love to come and meet some more of you guys. i`d feal stupid showing up in an imp when everybody else will have their classics.
  8. so i take it you already know what it does/is;) honda created it, toyota refined it......
  9. sounds just like toyota put a little of there technology into it, but they call it vvti variable valve timing. for maximum milage and power......its a good system, i`ve driven many toyotas with it.
  10. i don`t believe there is a high rollbar available that a topper would fit over. you'd need to fab one up or trim one down. wow, that thing looks pretty cool! i see the body lines are a little off. are you going to move that body line up on the brat bed? i hear those merkurs were pretty fast. i know my pops old t-bird tc 5sp was a rocket.
  11. speaking of merkurs theres a nice sounding xr4ti on nyc craigslist for $800 please post up some pics
  12. glad to see you joined up. i could see John is going subaru nuts when i saw him yesterday:Flame: been there done that many times! once (if he lets you:grin: ) drive the brat, you'll be hooked too!
  13. an aftermarket company made many of them. i`m sure you could find pics with a search. they look pretty cool
  14. yup and you'll be going to jail, but it'd be worth it cause at least your subes didn`t get stolen:rolleyes: i`m all for a good arse wooping and a call to the police, but shooting someone is a tough thing to do with all the penalties, even if they are low life trash and deserve it.
  15. not sure i can handle seeing another poor brat in that shape, its sad:dead: damn salty roads
  16. holy cow!! i`ll try to get those pics for you, but man i don`t know if that can be saved. i have a parts brat with almost no rust up in the front or rear frame, but on the inside wheel wells, but even the channel going up underneath them is solid. i guess its the shock mount. if i had a way to cut it, i'd sell you or trade you some underbody parts for a nice hood:rolleyes:
  17. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=72496 not sure how many of you get over to the offroad forum, so i figured i`d link this over here. looks awesome! nice work Freerange!
  18. yeah, they were custom. the guy also fabbed up a completly custom inner fender well section on both sides. i could probly get some pics of it.
  19. where is the frame rotted out? pics would be great. i`ve seen a brat in real life that had new frame channels welded in.
  20. holy cow Jerry! looks awesome. i was just checkin out the other pics. looks like a real mini brat. we need some more pics on how you did the back of the cab. are those sammy axles?
  21. did you have it shipped over or was it already brought over? nice car:slobber: thats like the best combo in an ea82 wagon. nice paint, nice wheels, weber, and 5 sp d/r:burnout:
  22. i have a nice rust free one. $2500 in NY. its an 82 with all the fixins:grin:
  23. yeah, seems like everybody's mentality is that "bigger is better" why not keep the classic original and let the 1.6 do what it was made to do. run like a clock, keep you out of tickets ( ) get good milage, not break timing belts cause it has none, and plus they sound really cool.
  24. i hated watching the last one poor thing........clutch slipping like crazy:dead:
