I use Toyotabond whenever I am dealing with one of my fathers company vehicles or my own. If I am in a pinch and I dont have any Toyotabond handy, I belive its called loctite 5500. Thats what the Porsche dealers use. Toyotabond is good stuff.

It sounds like you have an underpressure leak, my car does this kinda crap when I have an intercooler line that is loose. RA motor huh? Thats sweet!

And then adjust the E-brake to within .002 with the pull of 43ftlbs or something goofy like that...

At Idle? I dont think this is the spoiler, me thinks it is an exaust rattle or something else. Look at the base of the spoiler, where it mounts to the trunk lid, are there any scratches?

A compression test may actually not show it if it is a very small leak, it is a start though. You have not noticed any steam out of the tail pipe? If you can I would either use a Combustion gas tester, its the thing with the blue fluid that changes to green or yellow if theres combustion in the coolant. Or you could use an emmisions tester, just hold the probe, with the engine hot and running strong, right above the filler neck on the radiator. BE VERY careful not to get the probe into the water or you could have just paid 4000 for a machine. If it is a head gasket leak, you should fix it fairly quick, it will make your cooling system corrode at an alarming rate, regardless of your antifreeze.

I have thought about this, I know of a few junkyards that actually have my engine, I dont know if they have exhaust though. I have absolutly no cash right now, and I am truly on my last half tank of gas this car will see, unless I can get some Dough in my pocket. I dont like the bends of the stock header, if my bro in law and I took out the engine, and made a template of the crossmember and everything under there, we could put together a fairly decent header that flows nice, what do you guys think the pipe diameter should be? Bear in mind this is a turboed car so I want to keep the velocity up.

Well, generally CELs will come on at times like this when the car is not passing emissions. I dont know what the codes are hehe, so I will need to look those up, but it could be as simple as an o2 sensor either unplugged or malfunctioning. And you say the CEL flashed??? When those flash, unless its an obd 1, it means stop now or be sorry.

As far as pistons go, its hard to get unreliable ones if you have half a mind, I was thinking of CP pistons that they would be cheaper, and equal or better in quality, you guys are right about there knowledge on these engines, their heads are fantastic. Small blocks are soo cheap, but as the old guys call them "pancakes" are the best ever! I should have realized that duh, those airplane guys have the dough in there pockets to spend, so they charge for it. Why would I want to make my car faster, even with its stock engine? Hmm... I dunno, because I am a CAR guy, and this is what people like us do, If I had all the money in the world then sure, I wouldnt be driving this thing, but I dont. So I do my research, and I will hopefully have a fairly fast "shaggin wagon" (thats what my friends call it) that will kick the snot out of some mid-life crisis old men and their 350z's. but thats not going to happen for a fairly long time

bear in mind guys, this is a concept car, probably not even a driveable car, probabbly just one of the amazing japanese engeneers scrapbook pictures got stolen... Its extreemly doubtful that anything like this would be put into their production line.

while I was bypassing my coolant passage to my Tbody, I took off and re-secured my elbow that is on my Throttle body, this fixed some of the problem, although, not all of it, so I disconnected my wastegate and wow, My car hit .56 bar, unfortionately this was at around 4700rpm, so, clearly the problem is not fixed, but has been bandaided. I think I hear an exaust leak while under boost, so over the weekend I am going to go underneath the beast and snug up all of the nuts on my exhaust and see if that helps, I wont plug in my waste gate untill I catch the boost spike over normal, or fuel cut kicks in, either way, I will have a big smile on my face when it happens .

That does make sense that airplane peeps generally have deeper pockets than us but, still, they are not competitively priced with anyone...

mazda 3, thats what I thought the thing was when I saw the first commercial for it, and I even knew what it looked like before the commercial, It looks nothing like a subaru, man, where did subaru go wrong, oh hehe I know, it was the body after the GC . Subarus are far from ordinary cars, I do belive that is why people buy them, although I think they are trying too hard to look like everyone else, they just need to keep up what theve always tried to do; make a reasonably priced, well styled, decent gas mileage, good powered, safe, and EXTREEMLY reliable car. hehehe ok, so its a long list.

why are ram engines prices so rediculous? I mean I know I could get Forged pistons, for way less then what they charge, and if I got them coated, they would still cost less than their pistons. I want forged internals, and i wouldnt mind rams name in my mod list but, I am not spending that much on this turd.

it sounds to me like lifter noise, allbeit very loud lifter noise. Rod nock is deeper, and it would be fairly fast, Remember cams spin at half the speed the crank does. I wasnt in your garage so I cant really tell you what to expect exactly, hows the oil look? and whats the pressure, that would be a start.
