JDM motor ID?
Yeah - north of Spokane about an hour. I've always wanted to come up there and see what cool parts I can get in the junkyards that we don't have here...

JDM motor ID?
Gotcha. It'd be pretty tough to identify the motor by just the manifold. ha ha BTW, hello, neighbor! If you're in the Kootaneys, we're practically neighbors. I'm just south of you in eastern WA.

hi kyle from mass!
That's a fresh-lookin STi you have there. I think I need to get into whatever kind of work you do!
-
hello newbie from Idaho
Welcome, new friend! I'm a neighbor, too! I'm from just over the hill (Blanchard Pass) on the WA side. I know Twitch, too. Maybe someday when you're not busy, I can come take a look at your rally track...

Snow Tires
Those are beautiful. Scandinavians sure know how to make winter tires (tyres)! I'm impressed with the deal you got as well, bheinen

Snow Tires
Most of what you will hear regarding winter tires is anecdotal (including the opinions I stated). I think the tech specs on the Hakkas speak for themselves, though. Hakka 5 http://www.nokiantires.com/tyre?id=11890&group=1.01&name=Nokian%20Hakkapeliitta In my opinion, the hierarchy of winter tire awesomeness looks like this (based on availability here, in northwest USA. I don't know what you can get in eastern Canada): - Hakka 7 (when it hits the shelves in 2011) - Hakka 5 - Hakka 4 (the Hakka 4 just barely edges out the 'kooks, in my opinion, because of the directional square studs.) - Hankook 409 (very similar directional tread pattern as the Hakkapeliitta 4/5, but not quite as many fanciful features)

Snow Tires
Studs make a huge difference. Studs on tires do the same thing crampons do when walking on ice. All those little spikes dig into the ice, making acceleration easier (due to less wheelspin), stopping distances shorter (due to less lockup), and cornering safer (less sliding).

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
You've been around longer than me, superu. ha ha. You should do the swap. We'll compare notes along the way. You're probably more competent than I am.

Anyone interested?
Gotcha. So it would just be cut out letters on a sticky sheet? (rather than a round, transparent decal with color in portions)

The MurderWagon is getting a new heart (EG33 > 2000 Outback)
The transmission is broken in the wrecked SVX (as in, the case is busted almost in half from the accident). Plus, I have 4.44 in my Outback!

Anyone interested?
Yeah! Just like that. Can you match the font a little better? what would the cost on something like that be, in, say..a 9" clear window sticker?

check out my(wifes) sweet new roo!!
That's really sweet. Those beauties are getting tougher to find (in decent condition) every day. I sure miss mine. You make me jealous of EA owners!

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Lately...I drove ~200 miles one way to pick up a SVX motor to swap into my Outback this weekend! I must be nuts.

Anyone interested?
Other ideas within that theme: "flat 6 inside" "flat 4 inside" "pushrods inside" "boxer inside" "EA82 inside" "EJ22 inside" et cetera... I'm not sure why I love that particular idea, but I do.

Anyone interested?
Here's one I thought about as I was driving home saturday with my new EG33... How about this: But instead of "intel inside" it would say "EG33 inside"

The MurderWagon is getting a new heart (EG33 > 2000 Outback)
The motor is a '92 (OBDI) How would I mod the TCU to accommodate 4.44 and 6 cylinders? Could you share the secrets? I love the idea of the DCCD knob and paddles like in your EA82! Thanks a ton for your willingness to help! It's kind, wise men like you that make us n00bs stick around!

Snow Tires
I bought studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5s for my OBW two seasons ago. I've driven on several sets of all-seasons, iPike 409s, other Hankook tires, and some Kumhos. The Nokians have been, BY FAR, the best winter tire I've ever driven on. The square studs, siping, and other features make it the ultimate ice/snow rubber. They're VERY expensive, though. (Next year I'm gonna get those new Hakkapeliitta 7s with the hex studs) The iPike 409s are also EXCELLENT. They're by far the best you can get at most shops.

The MurderWagon is getting a new heart (EG33 > 2000 Outback)
I'll document as much as I can! I love what the community has done for me, so I want to give back as much as possible! The goal? Well, phase 1 is just to have the first EG-powered BH Legacy I've ever seen. The EJ25 was a turd. The extra 65 or so lb-ft of torque will help push a little more snow out of the way. Once it's on the road and moving, I'm planning to lift it and use larger tires. I'm researching those options right now (thanks for your input, Gloyale).

The MurderWagon is getting a new heart (EG33 > 2000 Outback)
Because there's a sweet EG33 sitting in my driveway right now. And...I feel like having SVX goodness inside.

The MurderWagon is getting a new heart (EG33 > 2000 Outback)
Twice as many throttle bodies...for twice as much fuel NOMming! Also : Most of the EG swaps I've found involve a manual transmission. Can anyone tell me how to make the TCU on my 4EAT talk to the SVX ECU?

The MurderWagon is getting a new heart (EG33 > 2000 Outback)
Here she is. The MurderWagon. We've been through a lot together. She's really been good to me. Unfortunately, due to some user error, she had some pretty catastrophic issues with the old 2.5 mill. ..which brings us to now. Here's her new heart: It came from a wrecked car with 92k miles. I've never seen any documentation of the EG33 into a 3rd-Gen Legacy before, so...I'm not sure how it will go. I'll post pics along the way. Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm keeping the 4.44 auto tranny in my car until it blows. As far as I know, it should pretty much bolt up. I'll need to have the engine harnesses merged (obviously). I'm sure there will be length-related clearance issues...radiator, fans, etc. Due to the lack of documentation of this exact swap, I'll have to cross that bridge when I get to it. The tear-down of the OBW engine bay will begin soon. for now, I need to get out there and pull my new EG off the truck! Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm reasonably new to this. Thanks, guys!
