  1. I have a main coon as well. Yep there big cats. Mine is only 20 pounds though, and has long hair. I rescued him when he could fit in my hand. Found him in an alley way, Flee bitten, ear mites, matted hair etc. He's 11 years old now and still the coolest cat in the world. They have great personalities (main coons) and he doesn't leave my side as long as I am in the house.

  3. There is a small shaft that has to pulled out a bit and re-aligned, and you better hope it didn't drop the pin down into the tranny, other wise it has to be pull and disassembled to be put back in place. This is why the torque convert wont go in...its hitting the edge of the small shaft. Get a coat hanger or welding rod make a hook on the end of it and go fishing in the tranny shaft. You should pull a small but long splined shaft out from where the torque converter goes. DON'T PULL IT ALL THE WAY OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!! because it will drop the pin thingy down into the tranny. Any way re-align it in to the tranny (should be centered on the shaft) then you should be able to slip the torque converter in. This is what the inside slides onto. This is why you have to turn and turn and turn the torque converter some times to get it in all the way. But you will feel it slip in. You should be good to go after that.
  4. Also if they used the tranny pan to jack up the tranny to help align it to the engine instead of using a bottle jack on the diff section they may have busted a solenoid. I did this once, on accident when the jack slip off the diff...Tranny would not work and CEL was on. Pulled codes, drop tranny pan and sure enough there was a solenoid that the housing was cracked as plain as day. Replaced broken solenoid and put everything back together, it all worked fine and still is. Thats when I started using a bottle jack.

  7. No amount of head gasket sealant repair in a bottle will help. It is all a sales marketing ploy and or used by conniving car lots. Where do you live, if your close to any one of us on the board we may be willing to help in the repairs. If you have mechanical skills you could do the repairs yourself. We could help you with the procedures and what you will need for parts etc.
  8. Not Just yet. Right now were working on getting things cleared out and getting it to a working platform, so we can see where we want to go next. But I am sure by the end it will have a lift and some paint. Not sure about how I feel letting a 16 year old have an EJ. But we will see at that point.
  9. Ya trust me that thought is already crossed my mined a bit. But our dinner table has always been an open forum of everything. So I just have to trust that he makes good decisions and takes appropriate precautions. Though I would rather nothing happen at all...but lets be realistic.

  12. Ya I have been using photo bucket but have grown frustrated and tired of it. So I switched to Picasa and have not quite figured things out yet. I edeited it with a link to the whole album. Its the best I could do.
  13. Ok some of you may remember the "BRAT as a motivator" post a year or so back. Well I that never really culminated and I decided to keep the BRAT for myself. But my youngest still has an interest in cars and is still out in the garage with me when ever he gets the chance. And after this years BRAT meet he is more stoked then ever to get one form himself. He has been wanting one since he was 6ish or so. Well I happened to find a BRAT by happenstance and did a bit of horse trading and ended up with what I would call the perfect project for him for the next two years until he turns 16. Of course there will be some guidelines and some standards that need to be set, but I feel that this will be a great extrinsic motivator for him. So Yes it is official this his BRAT and he can do to it what he wants...within reason. The first thing will be to yank the "I thought I knew what I was doing" Turbo EA82 that was just rebuilt and then yank out the harness with it, and try and get this thing back to EA81 status. Oh and clean out the back and see what parts we got...I get the rear seats as a "dad" fee Any way here is a LINK to the first shots of her when I brought her home in the the poring rain.

  15. Type of Wrenching: Profesional, Import and domestic. A couple of stealerships, and a couple of independants. Now work out of my garage on what I feel like I can work on....95% of it being suby. What: Subaru's and evrything else when I was in I & D shops. But I am partial to/own suby, GM and honda. I hate FORD and Euro cars (well Euro cars to work on any way... owning and driving them is fun) Chrysler is in the middle for me. How long doing it: 11 years Other skills: Welding, Teaching (currently in school to get my automotive teaching cert so I can teach high school shop) Hot rodding, motorcycles.
  16. Right I was meaning/inlcuding that in the above mention of what I do the ones that come in the kit are oem brown...the whole kit has the usaual nsk, ntn, gmb, japanese named gasgets in them. Heck even the exhaust gaskets are metel oem style. Not all of it is "OEM" but it sure fits and functions like it. I am not trying to plug the kit, but for the money vs what OEM stuff cost you can't beat it. Also be sure to use the suby additive and coolant as well. YES THERE IS HUGE DIFFERENCE
  17. I have used this exact same kit in several cars now, and have had no issues at all. The only thing I recommend is using the oem metal h2o pump gasket and ditching the pan gasket and use ultra grey slicone sealer like it had from the factory. Use ultra grey on the oil pump, and seperator plate, and also on the cam craddle as well. I use there t-belt kit as well..but you have allready done that so no worries. When I do the head gaskets I pull the engine and tear everything down to the short black and them come back out with re-sealing everything and I do mean everything. I also have my heads machined as well. Hope it all goes well for ya.

  22. NOT if you have a properly built lift. Mine is a six inch lift and my camber is spot on, as per my buddy who verified it on his alignment machine at his shop.

    Well folks, The day has come where I am selling the wagon. So I took some parting shots for the CL add and thought I would share them here as well.
  25. 2 x 2 in square tubing. with the push bar following the lines of the head lights. Big bolts and washers that go all the way through the body via the stock mounting holes. D-rings tripple pass welded...I know, that you know, that I know, these suckers hold Skid plate bolted to the bumper then bolts to the tranny cross member. Rear same but used angle iron to make a bracket to tie into the stock hole locations. And then made a bracket that has a plate welded to the bottom of it (flat bar side by side then a plate on the top) which ties into the tie down holes. Front: Rear:
