  1. Look for a stock used wrx radio, they have a built in 6 disc cd changer and sound ok. I am happy with the one in my 02 wrx. If you go over to http://www.nasioc.com you can find one for sale cheap. Lots of people reaplce them with aftermarket.
  2. I think it will be a good show again. My WRX is going to have the 20G turbo on by then. The WRX actually cleans up really nice for shows. I want to repaint the front of the 360, I had a little trailer loading mishap last year and cracked some paint under the front bumper, I think I want to paint flames on the front fenders now. I also want to redo the seats in red vinyl, I used cloth the last time and it's faded, but that won't be done by then.
  3. Undo the motor mount nuts and jack the motor up and slide it over the the other side while doing each cover. Takes 5 min and will save you an hour of fighting to get the vc bolts out.
  4. I have a perrin rear swaybar mount on my wrx, not sure if it fits the outback also. I think whiteline makes them also.
  5. I'd recomend you do this first. Go buy a paper air filter. Install that, it's just two clips. Go to an auto parts store and buy some MAF sensor cleaner. Take out the MAF sensor. It's usually just two screws and it pops out. 07 may be a bit different than the 02-06 wrx but not much. Spray the inside of the sensor with the cleaner well and let it air dry. Put it all together. Disconnect the negative battery cable then step on the brake pedal for a minute. This will reset the ECU. Reconnect the battery cable and drive it a bit to see how it is. If you are reasonably handy with a wrench and screwdriver this will only take a few minutes and might save you a lot of time and money.
  6. You could probably locate a used stock downpipe on NASIOC cheap. If the subaru dealer didn't flag your car's warranty, put a used downpipe on and take it to another dealer for service. Yes I know this is somewhat shady, but if you honestly bought the car like this, it's not really your fault and this will get you warranty service which IMO you deserve.
  7. $3000 is about right I think. Subarus are worth more in your area. None of the repairs needed are too major.
  8. I like to turn the steering wheel back and forth with the wheels in the air and engine running for a while, topping off the level as needed while doing this. They make a bit of noise while getting the air out at full lock.
  9. I see both of those in the U-pull junkyards here all the time. Of course the bumpers usually will have a few scratches. Maybe we should have a junkyard run the weekend after every pine barrens run to replace all the broken parts.
  10. For anyone who wasn't there you should have seen them freaking out when I drove through that same spot. Of course later that day I met my match in the clay pit. :-\
  11. The only 15" wheels you are going to find that will clear the brakes are going to be the wheels used on subaru rally cars. Some brands to look for are compomotive, team dynamics and speedline.
  12. First off the subaru dealer can not void your warranty. They can deny coverage on powertrain related items only because of the aftermarket downpipe. If it has a catless downpipe then you must also have some sort of tuning done to the ECU or it would have a check engine light on. As far as the acceleration problem goes it could be so many things on a car as complicated as an 07 sti it would be hard to give advice online. But some things to check for are boost leaks if it had any other aftermarket parts installed previously and improperly removed. If you want to keep the downpipe your best bet is find a local shop that specializes in wrxs and take it to them. If you want warranty coverage for the problem, you are stuck putting a stock downpipe with cats back on before the dealer will work on it. Also you'll get better advice about your sti on http://www.nasioc.com than here.
  13. It doesn't take up much space at all. It's a little over 4 feet wide and 10 feet long. You can store it in a garden shed if needed.
  14. You got a new brat, the baja. Nobody bought them. Sorry to be blunt, but that is the way marketing types see it.
  15. This is mine. I also have a 10x10 storage shed filled to the roof with parts and there is an attic in the garage also filled with subie parts. I am building an 8X24 addition onto the side to keep the 360 and various stuff in this summer. I also am planning to put a chain hoist in the ceiling for pulling engines to save the space it takes to store my engine hoist. I could have a lift, but I'd have to give up the attic storage in the garage. Oh yeah, it's got propane heat in the winter and A/C in the summer.
  16. Also don't try to search too much using crazed list at once. If you try do the whole country, craigslist will ban your IP. It slows down their servers.
  17. X2 every manual trans will have the lower starter stud. Add the matching rear diff to the list of parts needed. The sus will have 4.444 rear diff, so you will need a diff with a ratio to match the new trans.
  18. x2 For crazed list to work, you need to use firefox and disable send referer
  19. My 360 has no problem keeping up with normal traffic. It can cruise at 55 mph easily and I have had it up to 70 mph. A long trip on the highway at 60+ mph for hours on end might be too much for it, but other than that, you can drive these cars just like any other car.
  20. I claybarred the side of my truck last weekend. Slid it against the side of a clay hill. That's it in the pic above on the right. It's still that muddy right now, I haven't washed it.
  21. Mine are modified stock injectors also. I figured they would be in the 820-840cc range, but they turned out to be 860cc. I'll probably run around 25-27 psi on the new turbo. IWG for me.
  22. I just put 860cc injectors in mine. I got a 20G turbo for it, but it has a defect and has to go back, so I didn't get to put it on yet. Hoping for high 11's when it's done. It's running 12's now.
  23. Nice! What's the rollcage for? Drag racing? Road racing? Kinda looks like an NHRA legal cage. What air-oil seperator is that you have? Do you have it draining back into the block or do you dump it out when it's full? Depending on where you raced, you'd have a chance, on the street I'd bet on the WRX. On a dragstrip with the chevy on slicks it would be a good run. Both should run in the 11's right?
