  1. On a 5 speed, just put it in 5th gear with the emergency brake on to break the bolt loose. On an auto just wedge a prybar into the flexplate through the bellhousing hole. I don't like using the starter, it worries me, but it does work.
  2. I am the other way around with the cars. I'm neglecting the old one and drving the new one. Ever since I got WRX #2 I have neglected the 360. I feel bad, but I am totally addicted to driving the black WRX wagon. I love this car. It just totally suits me and my personality, I feel comfortable driving it. When I had the silver WRX sedan I always felt weird driving it, like I didn't belong in it, even though I liked it a lot. So I split driving between that, my truck and the 360. Since the day I got the WRX wagon on the road, it's what I drive everyday.
  3. Ok then, I will drop the kids off at school and get there around 10:30 or 11 in the morning Friday and stay for a few hours. Saturday is still a no-go for me. Then I'll be back first thing Sunday morning and stay until everyone leaves.
  4. You can drill small holes and spray rustproofing inside. Then put a rubber plug in the hole you drilled. That's how most places do it. Are you really going to drive this in the rain or store it outside anyway? If not I wouldn't worry about it too much.
  5. Hey now that we are getting closer, what days is everyone going? Is anyone going to be there Friday? I just found out that Saturday is no good for me. I was thinking I would go down a while while the kids are in school Friday with both cars. Then I'd leave the 360 there for Saturday, I'm sure all of you will keep an eye on the little car for me. I'll come back on Sunday morning for the day.
  6. Any green antifreeze is ok. If you smell coolant and it is low, you may have a leak.
  7. If there are speaker holes in the top of it, it is the amplified sub.
  8. Is it just an amp under the seat or is it an amp with subwoofer? I have the factory subwoofer with amp in my wrx and it just plugs in behind the radio with a jumper harness. I actually saved it from my first wrx and put it in my current one.
  9. Doubt it. She's not the type. I'll see if I can get my neighbor or bro in law to come along offroading next time. We are all going to the SPTR rally next month with all the subies in the neighborhood.
  10. I would do a complete wrx swap. Engine/trans/wiring seats suspension etc. I've seen a few older foresters like that and they are neat.
  11. Actually that is what my pace is like. There are 2 sitting out back waiting to be done now. I do a ton of 96-99 outbacks. A lot of them just get swapped to an EJ22, some get new gaskets. I've made a lot of money off these cars. I can't see driving anything but a subaru anymore. My everyday car is a wrx wagon and I have the 360. The wrx does it all for me, it's fast, handles awesome, look good, hauls tons of stuff and even small trailers. Most people I know drive them too. My mom has an OB limited, the neighbors have an outback, my brother in law has an OBS, my sister is thinking of losing the minivan for a Tribeca. A bunch of people in our town and friends, relatives, etc. have bought used Outbacks from me.
  12. Not just cam, crank also. There are two different crank sprockets as well. Don't overlook this.
  13. What you need to do is count the teeth on the back of both the cam and crank sprockets where they trigger the sensors. If you have the wrong one it won't run.
  14. Count the teeth on the back of the cam and crank sprockets that trigger the sensors. There are two different ones of each, if you have the wrong ones it won't run.
  15. It won't fit without fabricating an adapter pipe. If you have the axleback section, the midpipe and the second cat, you would make an adapter to go between your stock first cat and the wrx second cat. Besides the increase in diameter, the legacy is longer than a wrx. Really it's not worth doing unless your current exhaust is bad. There won't be any gain in performance. I actually bought an outback recently that somebody had put a wrx exhaust on. They made up an adapter, but it was a real hack job. I put it all back to stock.
  16. I believe they will. I have both a wrx and an outback here and they look identical. You can put the aftermarket bolts in both holes to get even more adjustment.
  17. Any EJ head fits any EJ block. What you want to do makes no sense. You won't gain any power by adding wrx heads to either of those cars. The 2.0 usdm wrx heads aren't that great as far as flow and the cams are designed for a turbo car. You would also need the complete wrx intake manifold, the bolt pattern is different.
  18. Yes you can. You can do a cleaner job with it out, but it is not hard to do HGs in the car on a 2.2
  19. Legacy outback bumpers will not fit on an Impreza Outback sport. If you want the big round foglights, look for a 99-01 Impreza RS bumper. You may need the matching hood, lights and grille. I'm not sure on that.
  20. I haven't had much luck with the foresters either. The outback just seems much more popular. The wheels fit fine.
  21. The legacy 97-99 GT and 96-99 outback have a bigger grille with a corresponding deeper cutout in the bumper for the grille.
  22. We are having one next month. Check the Carlisle thread in this section, sign up and come.
  23. EA82 is a downgrade for sure. In this part of the country EA81's are easy to come by. All the cars they came in rusted away and are sitting in the U-pull junkyards.
  24. The 95 engine will work fine in the 90 legacy. Both use dual port exhaust (3 bolts) Use the complete intake manifold and all sensors from the original engine. If the new engine has an egr valve just plug the hole in the back of the cylinder head where the egr pipe goes.
