Sand is not like snow. Air down and float on top. I have found wide street tires with no traction to be best. p.s. I need to get a pic, but the San Diego beach/lifeguards have red Bajas.

Thanks All for the feedback. I promise I won't blaspheme it. But daaaaamn! its fun. Its raining big time here and the car schticks like glue. ("...but officer, I wasn't driving faster than was safe - the car makes it safe."

Usually, the only shift difficulties come with the 4/3 kit. I haven't had feedback about the EA82s and that problem, but none the less, often with the kits the shift boot hampers movement and sometimes the boot hole requires some hammering just a wee bit to allow the shift rod full movement. Other have like Hatchmonster, heated and bent the shift rod a bit to do the same. I can call you and discuss. r/ PK

I agree, lift and rally dont go together. I want to run fast on the dunes and dirt roads, and the minimal ground clearance scares me. I figure 2 inches is enough to get some more wheel travel (one inch body and one inch strut lift). BYB Brett's in OZ has a 3-inch lift with 28" tires: A little more than I want, but I want more than stock. I am always open for suggestions and opinions. Besides, I am in the business thanks, PK

I wont beat her up, just want to get her airborne without too much worry. Legacy Lift kit - The Legacy lift is not what I wanted as it sits: that is - it is a body lift of 3-4 inches, HOWEVER, in doing it the usual way, there is no room to add larger tires because of the strut coil in the way, above the tire. The solution is to buy Outback front struts ($300 pair) and Legacy 2WD rear struts ($130 pair), which both have the lower coil perch about 2 inches higher, thus allowing 4 inch taller tires. (stock are 24.? inches, so then 28" tires are possible). Unfortunately, the lift kit portion will still cost $400+ , so the total lift package = $830+, plus more costly shipping. Secondly, the kits are different between the years- 1990 vs 1992 etc. It's really turning into a logistics problem. For me, I figure I can just lift her 2 inches and go just one size bigger on tires. For those who want lift and big tires - right now I dunno .

Allright, I can't keep it secret till WCSS7. 93 AWD Turbo Touring Sedan 5 speed 'Tis the shiznit Planned: IC, Man boost controller, 2-inch lift, beefy rally tires.

Remove rubber plug under rear seat. Will be one adjustable bolt. Use socket with extension. Best to first wd-40 the threads from the underside if rusty, then jack vehicle up to help lessen tension and adjust. r/PK (I just used 'wd-40' as a verb)

Nice tires on 14" Pugs - what size?
-
Good pic - thanks. Yeah, box and parts weigh 55-60 lbs. That cardboard and paper packing must be pushing 2 lbs. Actually the solid aluminum kit is on average 7-10 lbs heavier than the plated box steel kit... then there's the aluminum's cost - ouch. Future kits will most likely be a blend of plated steel (white zinc to match) and aluminum blocks to lose some weight and expense. r/ PK

It is my understanding, and I have seen spec sheets, that the dual range is 1.19:1 ratio much like the old RX, versus the 1.52:1 ratio in the EA82. Might be great if one puts on larger tires, then wanted to get back to original gearing driving in the lower range, but I think its a costly mod for that. Can one run 24/7 in low range? Just my $0.02. r/PK.

Hi Cody, I just replied with details. Timeframe is definitely shortened, LOL. thanks, PK.

Still contimplating the EJ to EA adapter. As you know, I was going the reverse, that is, putting the EA82 5 speed dual-range behind the EJ22 in my Legacy. 1. In trying this, I need to know if I have to buy and use EA axles, meaning 4-lug wheels in front? Or will the EA axles work with my Legacy front discs? Certainly my EJ axles wont mesh in the EA82 trans will they? 2. Legacy 5 speed (current) and EA82 5 speed D/R (proposed) might be different lengths, so now I need to modify my driveshaft? Hopefully not having to lengthen it - argh? Anyone with answers appreciated, thank you. r/PK.

I think it's a total. Maybe you should sell it back to me. Sorry to hear, Dave. So it 's no electrical to the pump? Somewhere I read that Sube's fuel pump get their voltage form the voltage regulator - check those connectors and/or relay. Good luck. r/PK -
Hey Tim, I will get to my emails tonight... all my emails, everyone r/PK

Thanks for info guys, the 1/8" has been corrected. As far as the corners on the front blocks, it's hit or miss (pun) on EA81 or EA82. Sorry for inconvenience - thankfully, aluminum is easily filed/cut/modified. Nonetheless - I have now moved to round blocks for those - no worries. r/PK.
