Hi Ratelo, I'm sorry, but that name is not familiar. Where did you get this BYB kit?... different name? The steering should be a T-bar unless you have power steering, then it is a double u-joint. 4-inch front and 3-inch rear is correct, with the rear torsion as Rooinator says adjusts to desired stance. r/ PK

What a beauty! Where do you keep finding these? I reckon you got the parts all okay, except the one in due 5-6 weeks, eh? ... very, very nice - I'm sure it'll get dirty, but don't bend it . r/PK -

Got mine too - that was fast. Thank you! r/PK -
I know people got a plethora of show pictures, but did anyone get this? Use it to advertise or title page CD. The Northwest is SOOOOooo scenic.

Many thanks to all, I am humbled. I have received thanks, and I have also received constuctive criticism - which is all welcomed. There's always room for refinement, and I thank those who suggest points for improvement. (received good input for the new aluminum version) I also have three words: The Backyard Boys I am happy to be the BYB / USA connnection. Brett (AUSubaru) is the man behind these BYB lift kits and continually works with me. Next run of stickers will have a bigger BYB incorporated like the t-shirts. WCSS6 invigorated me, and I will get on the stick to improve manufacturing turn-around times. Best Regards, Patrick.

YEP ! I got back to San Diego about midnight - easy flight. Great show - lots of good people and cars and food and only one trip to the beer garden - what? Oh well. Great weather and location - the fairgrounds proved to be xlnt - parking, camping, spaghetti and awards cafeteria style, mudpit, bleachers, etc, etc. Really a nice venue, might be best for WCSS7? Okay, I'll be the first one to say this: JUST WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR, MY CAR WILL BE SOOOooo.... Hope everyone arrived home safely. Thanks to all r/ PK. -
I have had similar thoughts, with the only concern being the front tires throwing dirt and sand in your face and every nook and cranny it could. Then also, most of the weight is up front so steering in sand will be heavy versus a rear engine setup and skinny front tires. Still intriguing though - think of designing it like a giant quad with fenders and paddles on all four corners.

Brian - I don't see any problem using them over - everything should fit. They are M8.8 and M10.9 grade. Maybe replace the lock washers at most. If you find you have a bad one or destroy one in the process, we can work it out. You can go with a longer shock without the horseshoe. Check a KYB application chart and just get a 2-3 inch longer-than-stock version with the same mount. r/PK

6 X 140 rims, what make/model have em?
P K replied to s'ko's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Late model Nissan and Mazda have better offsets to keep the tires from sticking out too far. $.02 -
Thank you anyway, Jason, but I'm renting a beater - maybe enter it in the Rally Cross - ha! - I better take the additional coverage.

Mudrat (John), thanks. I have no intentions of building 6"-12" lifts either. All yours . I saw Jared's divorced transfer case and F/R diffs setup in person, and it was nice! very custom, good work. I admit I drooled a lot and had brainwaves runnning for many nights after that... as well as thoughts running the Rubicon as you did with Weeble, lol. For anything greater than 4", I refer inquiries your way. Ditto to ya. I am really stoked about the Legacy/Liberty lift, which will round out the BYB offering - again only 3-4 inch lift. It has taken too long, but its going to be nice. Can anyone see a market for that EJ engine to EA transmission adapter? {Arcenio with finger on temple} Hmmmmmmm.....
-
hmmm...attention-getter. I appreciate all the good words lately, thank you. I just wanted to say for all the EA81 and EA82 owners that have purchased, or may consider to purchase, a lift kit from me - "PK" that, it has always been and will continue to be a "BACKYARD BOYS" (BYB) lift kit. While I take ownership for the quality and customer support in the USA version, the design and continued refinement is by BYB... (okay, I help refine a little - LHD differences ya'know). Brett (BYB in OZ) and I have a trusting relationship to support the Old Gen Subes with a guaranteed, well-proven kit. I am flattered that people refer to the kits as "PK Lifts" , but I would prefer to further proliferate the good BYB name. (okay all, change your signatures, LOL) Next run of decals will exemplify this too. Thanks for your ear, Patrick "PK" Davis. p.s. EJ/Legacy lifts are so close.

Thanks for all the good words here (and other threads) guys! For Brats, I recommend a 4/3 or 3/2 kit. With the 3/2, leave the front spring adjustments down, and the rear torsion just a teenie bit (couple turns) from all down (not clocked) to keep the ride very nice, and fairly level. Then go with 25" tires on 14" Pugs. No fender cutting and power is great, and freeway cruising is even greater. Side benefit is you still have about 9 inches ground clearance, and a very capable rig with good looks. My email : pkdavis@ozified.com to talk specifics. thanks, PK.

Most hardware stores will not have the bolts/nuts. The metric pitch is 1.25, for all bolts on the Subaru, be it 12mm or 10mm, etc. Best to use some WD-40 or equivilent, and slowly work the bolts in and out a few times. r/PK

Hello All, To all you Old Gen Sube owners that have emailed me, I have gotten "undeliverable" receipts from those with AOL accounts. If you have AOL, chances are my replies are not getting to you. Check your security or spam list, thank you. Meantime, please PM me here. Thanks, PK. I already posted this in off-topic wihtout response, so please give it a couple days here.

Kelly, PM or email me you phone number and a good time to call, and we can talk it out. r/ Patrick

Hi Kelly, Yep. The shorter blocks are correct. Same goes on the 4/3 kits. There is negligable driveline angle change (1" over a few feet is nothing - but it makes for much nicer shift linkage.) Rarely are there differences in Subes, maybe a washer or rubber here or there.... might explain about the four bolts being long, sorry. Glad it got there properly and went together well for you. Post a pic when you get the tires on, eh? r/ Patrick

Zap, what's the dealy? - why you doing over there? I got a call from you last week or so and returned it without success. Must be the 3 hours thang. Anyway, I am out of the loop as to why you are in the NE. Anybody want to fill me in? NEVERMIND, I READ HIS EARLIER POST - cool. I'll try your NEW cell # again this week. Be safe, take care, PK p.s. Isra - I've had several other Israelies desiring a lift - so I know there are many over there - a couple have sent off road pics too. Nice. (kit shipping costs to Tel Aviv are whack, $350+ USD) Maybe Jared can stuff a few in a C-17 on his way over.
