  1. Looks XLNT Maybe a couple of turns on the rear torsion bar to firm it up and give it balanced stance/handling. Tire and wheel combo wonderful. Ooh, I miss ole red . r/PK.
  2. Someone probably wanted a real nice souvenir, and wasn't thinking it belonged to the organizers and it was not going to be re-used. Before condemning the person, who probably feels bad at this point, and who can't very well show it to friends or anywhere public; just provide an address here or another post asking to anonymously box it and ship it back - with no questions asked. Hopefully it will be safely returned to use next year, and all will feel better. r/PK

    Lift block bolt?

The bolt is an M12x140mm with a spacer washer. It is about $2.50-$3, but the shipping is like $5. That's why if you can find it local... but I can get one out to you, let me know. I already have your addy. r/PK

    Lift block bolt?

They are spendy. Try to find one local, or PM or email me. Which one does it go to... the 2x3x6" block or the 2x3x2" block? Will be M10 or M12 bolt. r/PK
  5. EA82 uses 3" blocks front and rear with 4" front strut towers and 4" rear strut extensions. r/ PK
  6. PM me or email a good time to call you . Sounds like we need to verify some issues. Sorry you're having a time of it, but we'll get 'er done. r/ PK.
  7. Deep down, the Avalanche owner wished he bought a Baja. And he gets reminded every three days when he is at the gas pump. He was probably going to fill up after the movie and just needed to vent. Speaking of Lance Armstrong, did you see the "Overhaulin" or whatever TV episode where they re-did Lance Armstrongs classic GTO? He showed up in his Forester XT.
  8. For clarity, the front strut extensions are offset on the BYB kit to keep correct camber. Even on the 4" strut extensions - On the EA81 we use 4" crossmember blocks, and on the EA82 we use 3" blocks, but those 4" EA82 strut extensions are offset even more for correctness. The advantage of the latter is one inch increased ground clearence. The disadvantage is the potential for increased CV wear. Using rubber inserts to increase spring (ride) height will change camber, just like cranking the front adjusters on the EA81 springs. As in the Subaru users manual, it is okay for short periods, but will it will cause abnormal wear on the street. One inch suspension lift would be the max I'd recommend as far as CV wear, so as it is with the 4" EA82 BYB kit. Vanislru's 4" BYB Kit has the correct strut offset and his camber is proper. He does have the one inch CV deflection angle which does affect its wear - primarily in the front. The additional one inch in the rear setup has little or no affect as the CV deflection angle there is so minimal. There should be none of this: \ / with any BYB kit. Sincerely, PK.
  9. For that price (too low) two words come to mind: Salvaged Title ...if not in your state, than possibly in another, and the title has been "laundered". First, pay or borrow someone to run a Carfax on the VIN. Get under vehicle and check for bent frame (re-staightened), weld marks, repaint and/or new undercoating. Good luck, PK
  10. Austin 04 Suzuki DL650 Vstrom 94 Impreza L 5spdAWD Wagon - Offroad modded! 87 GL Brat - *****for sale, ready for sale at WCSS7?***** 64 Austin Healy Sprite MkII roadster (my first car!) Austin, How do you like your V-strom 650? The Vstrom 1000 was too much bike for me, but the 650.... well?
  11. RainbowRoo (William), If your rear horseshoes look like this (side view): | | . \ . . \ then it sounds like you need the other version that looks like this: | | . \ . | . | PM me with your addy and phone, and I will exchange those. R/ Patrick (PK) (p.s. good confirmation, Kelly, thanks) {geez, how do you type spacing in?}
  12. Is it a rubber squeak or a metal squeak? (not that I have the answer, but just trying to narrow suspects) r/PK
  13. I vote 16oz Pint glasses - large enough to hold a bottle of beer and its head. ...unless the beer garden has a keg/tap, then mugs are fine and will be used appropriately (p.s. Light beer is not appropriate)
  14. I am going to take my Subaru hat off for a moment and blaspheme the post: For your lifestyle and cargo needs @ $20k, you could get a new or near new AWD Honda Element. Before anyone else or yourself laughs, test drive one - you WILL BE AMAZED - pure function and IVTEC power and reliability. All-weather flooring, flip up rear seats for van-size cargo, laydown seats for bed, snowbooard/ski racks, mountain bikes fit inside, U-haul receiver hitch, etc, etc. I apologize Lord for recommending other-than-Subaru. (voice of Larry the cable guy)
  15. Mike, Somebody slap me if I'm wrong, but I still think you have the wrong PP and clutch assy. You say it has 1/8 inch before it touches and bolts down? I don't think the 1/8 inch tension/pressure is adequate, even for 73hp. Only because I had the same thing with my '82 Brat - when I got the correct set, I swear it was more like 3/8 to 1/2 inch gap to tighten down. Taking the PP and clutch set back to compare with another at same store will not be of value if all their stock is the same. I went to Kragen and then Pep Boys and took my old PP to show and compare that their PP was wrong for an '82. If I remember, you don't have the original PP to compare, so it makes it harder. I don't have good advice beyond finding another '82 PP (junkyard?) or take yours to a few different auto parts to compare with what they have for an '82. The difference in plate offset to housing will be noticeable. I think, not sure, but the clutches are also slightly different at the spline thickness. Best of luck. r/PK.
  16. Based on the current cost of Subarus, it already exists as its highline name, and they should be looking for a lowline name like Scion is to Toyota - Call it "VolksKang" which means - the People's Roo.
  17. Lifting the 93 SS suspension about 1.5 inches - basically it's gonna be a dune and beach runner. I was curious what those who rally do about the air bags. I don't intend to bash it, but gump happens. Sounds like from your experiences, it won't deploy unless I really need it to - which is cool. Thank you all, PK
  18. Does anyone remove or disengage the air bag sensors when off-roading? Is this viable? I mean, if you're rallying and REALLY bouncing it, or happen to hit something too hard rock crawling, will the air bag(s) deploy? Is there a simple fuse or possibly just disconnect a connector (light may come on)? Experiences or Opinions? thanks, PK.
  19. I can see it know, dozens of out-of-state Subaru nuts driving around with a beer stein and a compass on their dash - throw away the GPS.
  20. P K

    RallyCross woes.

Well, I am only going 1.5" extensions anyway... just to get some clearence and more down travel. I'll read the fine print. thanx!
  21. Cool, Brian. I have the 10-row version of the SAAB IC. You need to flip the IC over, rotate it 90 degrees and shorten the plumbing as much as possible. (the inlets will be reversed too) That's the way they are retrofitted into the Legacys. That'll move it more over the engine, but allow airflow when you put in a scoop. I know you've been to legacycentral.org - they will tell more about using fuel filler hose or silicon versus regular, and clamping so you don't blow the hoses off, etc, etc. r/ PK
