  1. Hasn't happened to me yet, and i romp my wagon very hard. Checking / tightening the lift bolts after wheeling is good insurance that this will not happen.
  2. You're always hookin' someone up with help, way cool! There's three tubes per front strut, right? Seems plenty strong, and the simplicity is a + I'm diggin' on the 2ft+ screwdriver laying on the floor. I need one of those.
  3. This makes me seriously consider getting a key made so i can lock my doors
  4. I've never bought an oil filter from a dealer... but The Michael (butt)Hohl dealership in CC is a rip I paid almost 30 bucks for a clutch cable from them when i lived in Washoe Valley. It was the only dealer close enough to get a ride to. I buy the NipponDenso oil filters through RockAuto, 10 @ a time, along with whatever other crap i need to buffer the shipping costs. No complaints. My $0.zerodeuce
  5. I have Monstaru's old intake manifold and the way that he blocked off the EGR passage is bulletproof. I threaded an old thermosensor into the head to plug that hole. Fits perfectly.
  6. Hey, that sounds like my kind of ill behavior ! Update on the issue.. It did not leak at all when i drove it this morning. Seems to be an intermittent problem, which is hard for me to grasp. No headgasket symptoms, runs quite cool actually.
  7. It's a pretty gnar leak, coming from the DS of the engine area. Not associated with any of the obvious hoses, and it only occurs when it's up to operating temp. So far i'm stumped but my flashlight died and it's too cold out anyway
  8. Yes, yes it's mine and it, and my GF, are home safe Nothing more than a coolant leak gone wild. At least she knew to pull over when it got hot Good lookin' out Dave !
  9. I'm afraid this is not reality no matter what you're driving. It's the risk and worry that makes it what it is. I wouldn't have half as much fun in a "real" rig.
  10. That sedan is freakin' sweet. How do you like those M/T's ?
  11. Having done both, i'd say that it depends on the tools you have access to. If you have a picker, pull the motor, definately easier. Set the engine in a 5 gallon bucket and go to town. Having a GOOD tranny jack, it's no sweat either, as long as you can get the car really high (like 2 feet) off the ground. Damned if you do/don't kind of scenario:)
  12. Figures a guy from Maine would catch that It's a buoy from my first season as a deckhand down in Cali. It screams "look at me!" Once you hit your mid-twenties you need that sort of thing:rolleyes:
  13. Very cool, i wish you the best! I'm a stay at home Dad, and love (most ) every minute of it.
  14. Yo dave, It's been a bit colder than that down here in the valley. I think the low for tonight is 7* brrr. The cold starts REALLY suck. User error, more than likely. I've had a fun time getting it to run at all:rolleyes: Not even close to perfect, and my MPG's are like 14 tops. Though, I drive like an idiot, so it may be on par. Here's one more pic for kicks:

  16. Anyone know? This whole car is 150 bucks, im sure if the pattern matches i can swap wheels on the cheap
  17. That is a sweet .gif !!!
  18. Hey, the first measurable snow down here in the valley. On Christmas to boot. Time to go romp!
  19. Thanks Brain! Performance is much improved, I can chirp 27's on the pavement now, not that i want to make that a habit. It just.. . happens. I like the weber. The fact that i learned all about it makes it all the better. I didn't know where to start with the stock carb.
  20. Hijack : Will these peugeot's work?!
  21. It's this guys http://www.subarubrat.com/
  22. My 84 started doing this after i cut the muffler off. Never did it before Just somethin' to ponder.
  23. Went solo wheelin' (as usual) today towards the Leviathan Mine.
  24. Don't let your Subie become a shotgun target like this Ford wagon I found hulking in the mountains today. Kinda botches the scenery.
