  1. Who is CCR, and do U have a link for them? I didn't know any one was making the EA71 pistons!
  2. I'm cool with that! I'll go and get mine tomorow;) Adam usto run a STOP sign for a skid plate, so I will defer to him on mounting options. I may have found us 2 new members, and they have(between the 2 of them) over 15 Subaru parts cars!!!!! The guy I talked to is interested in coming on the trip. I will keep U guys posted.
  3. I think Jessy may be all talk:-p He was telling me all about how he is out 4wheelin' all the time, and how he can go ANY WHERE. Then I called tonight to invite him, and hes all "Uhhh...well....I need some new tires...and my front end is all mesed up -n- stuff" So he is not wanting to come out and play:rolleyes:
  4. I would gess we would stick with John's Peak, most of the trails would take driving skill ubove all, I got no lift kit:-p . And yes, that would be the 21st Bill, hope U can make it:burnout:
  5. Thank U. Do U know if they have there oun web site? Or is ther just info on them in others sites?
  6. Any one have the link to the Stratus site(stratus air craft engines)?
  7. This is the 2nd bigest reason I am now driving soobs insted of Ford trucks! Back in my Baja days the VW comunity was the same way, and I loved it! every other Baja/air cooled VW driver U met wer all top notch people. When I went to the truck world I missed that ALOT! Now that I'm in the soob world life is good and happy agen:D All the people I have met from the board have been great, and the people I meet just drivin' around the valley are cool 2:-) HAPPIENES IS DRIVING A SUBARU!
  8. I wil be off on Friday, but I don't know if Brian is planing to come up for this or not, if so we need to check with him too. I'm thinking we should invite Jessy (the guy in Central Point with the wrecked turbo wagon) and see if he wants to come out and play with the "Rogue Roo's":D
  9. It looks ALOT like a Scorpion MII, very cool:slobber: What type of tube bender are U using to build it? Any idea how much the empty chassie weighs?
  10. They would only be 25" @ the moste, I wouldn't think that would hit at all. But I'm not an expert on stock wheel wells:-p
  11. That is a VERY good question:eh: I would gess the DMV, but I don't know for sure. I bet that a motorcycle shop would know. Matt, Adam, any ideas? Cost?
  12. If the problem ends up being ANYTHING in the drive shaft I will finally have a good enough reason to have a new custom 1 pice shaft made:D
  13. I'm VERY glad I read this thred, I have the same problem! I was just gona chalk it up to "it's a 4x4 that gets abused" But it is anoing at best, and pi$$ing me off at worst. Don't know why I never thought of the U-joints:brolleye:
  14. OK, it's all set! The 22nd, we meet @ my place around 10:00AM. We wheel "John's Peek", all day! If we have any out of towners coming, my add. is(for map quest): 2396 Thorn Oak Dr. Medford OR 97501
  15. If U get one of those tools to tighten them, and some GOOD quality zip-tyes(3/8" wide if U can find them) they work great!
  16. Hey Adam, if nothing else U can come over here in the morning and we can pull 1 of the shafts out of the gold wagon and U can use that for now;) It's not like I'm gona be driving it any time soon:-p If U need it and can't get a ride over here call me in the morning (840-7251) and I will pull it and meet U @ your car with it:brolleye:
  17. 1) take off wheel 2) loosen the center nut, and get it flush with the end of the axle. Then beat it loose from the bearings. 3) seperate the lower controll arm from the spindel, and knock out the inner roll pin. 4) finish driving the axle through the bearings till it's free, and remove it from the car(U can just bend that flap of sheet metal out of the way, U will know whaen U see it;) ) 5) do the axle dance and shake it all arou..............Uhhh...U might want to skip that last step:-p
  18. The last time I changed one I had to re-tap the threds to put the new one back in:eek: But I didn't use any penitrating oil on it:banghead: Just go nice and slow and use LOTS of oil on it even as it's coming out.
  19. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! I love gen 1 wagons and Brats:cool:
  20. Look in motorcycle shops, it's called PJ1 Balance Plus. I did a google serch on it. I haven't yet used it, but I'm about to start!!! I didn't even know that ther wer things like that on the market:eek:
  21. U use the stubs out of a 3.90 dif, put them into the 4.44 dif.( at least that's what every one I have talked to says) and then use the stock front shafts and joints. The DOJ's have the same inner splines front and rear.
  22. I would go with the 185's, only $2 more and it puts that much more tred on the ground;)
  23. From what the "fly boys" say, the stock crank and rods are good for 6300RPM all day long. If U use stock Subaru EA81T pistons they are forged (Nitrous any one:brow: ) There is a place up north ( Portland or Seattle) that grinds cams for the Subarus (but I can't remember the name) I have used that carb on a draw through turbo sys. before with good results on an air cooled VW T1 engine, so I don't know why U couldn't use it. The turbo exaust man. from a stock Subaru turbo from '83 or '84(EA81) to '91(EA82) WILL fit that engine, as will the down pipe. I would go the wrecking yards and find a stock turbo Subaru and get the turbo, exaust man, the aluminum intake to turbo pipe, and the oil and water(if so equipt) lines.
