Radiator for 88 wagon
was it just the plastic portion of th petcock itself? If so, you can buy replacement petcocks for hella cheap. I've known them to break off inside the radiator but with a pair of needle nose pliers, you can get it out.

rear disc brake swap.
I did a rear disc swap on a '84 Brat and in the snow, the rear end locked up before the ftront, thus making it slide all sideways. I had to be careful.

What kind of lugnuts/washers do I need? (pug)
or call up Loops Auto Wrecking in Albany, OR 97321. They specialize in Pugs and such... my dad has those same steelies on his '79 504 diesel and yes, they have the funky lugs and washers...

what could it be now...
for the overheatin issue, sounds like you might have a clogged radiator. The voltage going up and down, depending on what volts you're reading at idle and what voltage you're reading at, lets say, 2500rpm, with/without loads on, etc. will determine what is exactly wrong with your charging system if anything at all. If the voltage@ idle is lower then ~14.5 volts, you're alternator is slowly going out. If you see anything less then ~14 volts at idle with the loads off, best bet would be to replace the radiator, especially if you're running a bigger stereo (aftermarket is bigger for these cars!), more lights for wheeling and such.

Woohoo PARTS ARE HERE!
I got it from another board member who knew where to get them made. I got it right before he moved 4 hours away from where the shop is and they said they wouldn't do shipping.... :-\

Ready for a New Lesson; Subaru 102
the beginning of the VIN code designates whether its a FWD, 4WD, wagon, sedan or Brat. I have a post in someone's thread about vin codes out of my '78 FSM and it gives everything for that year excluding the Brat (which is weird). It lists the transmissions also. Here's the link to the post... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57406&page=2&highlight=A67L Here's what my post entitled...

TD04-13G turbo, flow mapped for the EA82
I will have to agree with Caleb. It was very fun while my engine lasted and with the stock boost that the TD04 puts out (I forget what it is) got my RX to move very nicely off of lights and such.

Woohoo PARTS ARE HERE!
awww how cute! Maybe with the mods you're doing, you might want to invest in a stage 2 clutch. I got one in my RX and lemme tell you, it grabs harder then Hondasuck's '87 GL turbowagon with an XT6 clutch. I'll see about snapping some pics of it since I have it out of the car again.

A new Wedge...
well I'm not sure but XT6 springs might fit onto Legacy struts but I am not for certain.
-
A new Wedge...
if you use the Legacy struts in the front and the EA82 shocks in the rear, which are the same as XT6 I believe, use some 2wd springs for both and it'll sit low with suspension.

EA81 engine year?
GD, unfortunatly, I don't have the buld dates for either the '81 wagon or the '85 RX since the wagon ended up going to the scrapyard and the RX was never in my possession. I do know, however, that the engine in the '81 WAS original with 90,000 miles on it. I believe its from an early '81.

lowering springs for 87 standard
psh, suspension is for wussies! I pulled the springs out of the front and cranked the torsion bars all the way down in the rear on my '78 Brat. I'm surprised I still have kidneys but it was awesome when the slammed Hondas drove by and stared....
