voltage jumping to 18v?
I just want to add, I've heard the battery isolators aren't as good as the solenoid type for running a second battery and can result in fire. I got one sitting here if you want it, i'm gonna use the solenoid. Just what I was told. I love the small battery thing and I'm looking to do the same thing for the camp site. I've been really happy with small shops like Acme auto electric on aurora ave. for alts. They do all sorts of custom stuff and just do electric and rebuild all their own alts for the same price as napa with a better product and warrenty.

EA81 - I want to add Power Steering to my BRAT
If you have all the pieces for the power rack and cant get the crossmember off (like being stuck at pull-a-part), you can drill out the spot welds off the lower plate on your existing crossmember to remove the plate and drill the required holes for the new power rack, just bolt it back on when done and dont over drill. You will need all the parts from the power rack though and the rubber grommets as well. If you closely look and compare your friends crossmember and yours, you will see what I mean.

Do you guys drill your own wheels?
Points to ponder if your planning to drill your rim or hub; 1) do your new rims look fancy? (Like Yo! G'Dog Thems All Shiny Bling Dog Shoes On your Piamp Ride! and such snot) 2) are you going to beat the snot out of them and cover them with mud? 3) do you live with excessive auto regulations like in Australia? Real points to ponder; 1) are your brakes good enough? 2) does your engine have enough power? 3) will you keep up with up keep or do you have to take it to a shop?

Do you guys drill your own wheels?
"If you pay attention, this is a pretty hard thing to screw up."Yeah Buddy! When did they put 9th grade back into middle school? When I was(n't) there they had just changed it to 9,10,11,12th being high school! Its reverted already? Its a 20yr phlip phlop? Why does a self drilled taper help "in any way "on a redrilled rim, why not just flip a nut and use the backside, keeping it self centered on the stock two? keywords: high!, School?, Drilled, Girls..., Flipped nut!, rolled a taper, hot drill action?, reverted to..., rim job, BEER!

Biggest tires with no lift?
That thing needs a lift! You would be so happy!

need heavier springs for the loyale
Makes me wish I had an ea82 again! I'm running my leone with ea82 wagon springs in the rear and its a little too stiff for crawling, but it drives like a lincoln with a heavy load. Without a load, it can get passengers a little car sick cuz its stiff! Literally "bouncing" down the highway! I want to get some sedan springs back there as I'm sure they will be a sufficient enough of an upgrade over the stock shock and not overkill like the wagon spring.

Hitachi Disty: Which terminal is Pos.?
The far terminal from your modified grommet should be positive. I just checked my setup. I had the same prob when switching from ND to the hitachi. I would seriously try to budget out a redline weber carb for that car. You can put a ea82 manifold on it if you run into a round hole style manifold and cant source a ea81 square one. They are just so much easier to keep in tune and everything is just so much cleaner.

EJ FSM Carb Info

WTF SPFI swap ran yesterday now no start
If its the same as an ej, (just an efi system) you need to get your ecu hot from a different source, like the black wire in the column plug. One drops voltage while cranking, not leaving enough for the ecu. I wired mine the same, tested w/ a dmm and was one(1) volt low, no start. I hope you used the same gauge wires or larger and soldered them. Clips or crimps are ok for the tiny stuff but larger amperage stuff cook and gain resistance like a lightbulb would under your dash. I really should start getting parts for this swap.

Ej swap high idle problems and fixes thread
O.k now I'm confused. My Idle circuit is grounded when off and not when on, and not getting4.5v when off. I didn't rewire any of that off the harness. If I should try to rewire that.... Where to go now? It should be stock still. Turbone, hows the high idle?

EA81 SPFI swap
Whats your mileage like, even with your tires and lift?

EJ swap stalls...ideas?
bump How did this work out? I've got to get this right on mine.

Ej swap high idle problems and fixes thread
I got some results on the high idle issue with my swap when I (just) installed the neutral switch and grounded my tranny identifier pin. Do you think the comp. might have some sort of a/c or auto trans bumb up switch circuit ? I'm not perfectly idling yet, but it went from 2000k to 1250k steady with b20 and to 1000k with the neutral switch, and I havent cleaned my maf or aic yet. I'm hoping for some results there too.

What Is This Thing & Where Do I Get a Good One?
Bureaucracy at its finest. The law states (somewheres I aint lookin up) that auto component re-builders can charge twice what they used to under some law GW Bushie signed into existence, just to make it more expensive to fix your old car. Thats how a nd disty, dealer new, is now close to the same cost as a rebuilt one.

Car Stolen... Seattle Area
I'm next to northgate, I'll look out for ya. Sometimes, karma has a weird way of showing its face. Maybe its more a lesson to others and not so much on you. We are all one of the dominoes in the illustration. Who knows the placement. Every one of your/our neighbors faces the same fate if we dont look out for each other. You might be more resilient, someone could have gotten it worse.

Educate Me on 2nd/3rd Generation Subaru Wagons
Still nothin' like a Lincoln Continental for party of three, as long as your not "sleeping"!:grin:Leather is easier to clean. So what more does the OP want to know?

Educate Me on 2nd/3rd Generation Subaru Wagons
I'm 5'9 152lbs and with a ply-wooded rear deck you get not a trace of corrugated rump roast-syndrome and can sleep two! ( not to hijack but) I got a twin size sheet of memory foam and its plush:cool: Had I known comfortable it really is when I had my last ea82 I'd a chucked the rear seats in that too! Storage for the gear and speaker boxes built in. Sometimes it sucks to not have extra seats though. Its amazing how much space they take up. I've camped in both ea's, just not a legacy and I'll say, they both suck unless you modify it. Whos camped in a lego? size and number!

So. California EA82 Wheeler
Dude! Mad fab skilz! I could make mine look like that but only out of wood!
-
Educate Me on 2nd/3rd Generation Subaru Wagons
For camping in the back of either ea81 or ea82 you had better be short. The ea82 have just an inch or two larger cargo area but both are just under six feet for flat area. In my 82' wagon, I tore out my rear seats and decked to back out in ply that folds down when the seats are forward for space. That might be an option for you if you only plan on having a two seater.

fuel system Damage?
I always heard it was bad and caused poor mileage but not more emissions or premature part failure. The government has our purse strings anyway on the gas front with our ten million safety features and big car bs. Whats up with economy cars? Seen a small truck lately? Worried about led and mercury in the fish and you want an electric car? We had a 56' morris minor once and it was getting 50mi to the gal. I though humans were getting smarter? Anyhoo, I thank you for sharing.
-
Takin on water!
I'll bet if you'd fix it, you'd be prouder than snot even if no one could see it. Its a mad max world out there and your not building rocketships to the moon, yet. Id say if the car is worth it to you, do it. You gonna hurt your feelings? What do you want to upgrade back there? EA82 right?

Old Subaru's from little Iceland
Whats the toll on the local wildlife like? You think the ash has killed all in its path or are things just waiting to pop up after the assault is over? We really havent heard much over here besides the uk not flying and african flowers dying. Any concerns?

Old Subaru's from little Iceland
Wow! Those last shots are bloody amazing! What did you and your friends do? Run into the dust cloud and snap a few then run like lightning so as to not get hit by lightning?! Fantastic! Give praise to the guys holding the camera! Wow!

So. California EA82 Wheeler
It might not be oem but I used a corresponding o-ring from the local store and it was just too big in the right way and sucked down pat. I got the 5pack for 2bucks.
